Lets face it w/o Romo this is a 3 to 5 win team a year.
If Jerry does not get Romo for free and has a run of several losing seasons, no way does he fill the Stadium every home game, no way does he get away with hiring substandard HCs and Coordinaters.

Romo has allowed Jerry to continue for several years in the role of GM that his performance has dictated that he does not deserve.

In a weird kind of way Romo has set us back several years because he has allowed Jerry to continue as GM.

I think it's going to take several really bad years on the field for the pressure to get to the point to where Jerry has to step back and get a real football man in here, ie the three 5 and 11 Campo years that got us the BIG TUNA.

So I think we are stuck with Jerry the GM until Romo is gone.

Your 2 cents ?

I actually think Romo doesn't have a thing to do with Jerry's GM bombing.

He's do it regardless. He bought the team decades ago & Tex left & he has sucked at his duty every since.

Jerry is going to be THE football guy on this team no matter what or how poor he is at it.

Unless I am missing your point I don't equate Romo in this.

Jerry's biggest flaw as a GM is hiring head coaches, other than Jimmy and Parcells the selection has been embarassing for a franchise this big.

Signing Romo to a huge contract on the downside of his career is part of Jerry's idiocy.

Bingo!

To think the top franchise in pro sports, and he has put a couple of no name morons who have no business being a HC is irritating. And quite frankly embarrassing.

You totally missed his point. He is arguing that Jerry lucked into Romo and that makes Jerry's terrible GM skills look better than they otherwise would. Without Sean Payton finding Romo, we'd probably be playing Drew Henson right about now.

Kind of tired of the, "without Romo, we are a 3-5 win team" stuff. Romo is not replaceable and maybe we are in line for a Luck or other good QB if we are not stuck with Romo all these years. I can't argue that Romo has been a very good to excellent QB during his years here, but don't think we are 3-13 without him here for very long. I do agree that he has shown some reason to ponder his large extension, but can't fault Jerry for thinking he is good enough to take us to the SB if the supporting cast helps out.

Hey, Jerry kept Emmit well past his prime so he could break the all-time leading rusher record in a Cowboys uniform. Parcells sent him packing the very next year for Troy Hambone.

As a team you are going to suck w/o a franchise QB, see the Campo years of three straight 5 and 11 seasons.
Once Romo is gone, I see history repeating itself.
Unless you feel Garrett is such an awesome HC that he is good for a few extra wins

Its been 17 years of bad product I dont think a few more years is going to do the trick.

When jerry finally steps down or dies mr secret sauce takes over for more of the same anyway.
