There had been a lot of Romo-Love leading up to this last Giants game and while Romo had played very well there still was that small part of me (and I'm sure of many others also) that wondered “what if this is just a luck streak; what if it’s a fluke that will fade?” Well, I needed to See Romo beat the Giants outright to fell less skeptical, and boy, did Romo erase any skepticism I had of him last night! The way Romo cut the ball through the Giants defense in the late 4th quarter to put the team ahead was masterful. It is the fact that he rallied Dallas back TWICE in the late 4th quarter, in a big game on the road, with the divisional-lead on the line, against a team that clearly had the momentum that has made me believe, conclusively, that this is no fluke nor a simple streak of luck.

All I can say is, WOW!!! Here's my big STANDING-O :clap2: to you Mr. Tony Romo! WOW!!!

Yep, but sure hopes he returns to earlier form which we Cowboy fans so enjoy. Someone on this board posted comment that Giants were playing Romo like they did Peyton Manning--moving around a lot presnap, bringing pressure, etc. Expect to see NO try do the same thing but their defense isn't really that good but are coached well and do what they can.

We better bring lot of pressure on Brees however we do it and be prepared put points on the board. With Seattle's win, they tied at 8-4 with NO & Cowboys but based on division play we would come in as lesser seed. Beating NO should make us #3 seed and all we can hope is that someone knocks off Seattle. Was hoping Broncos could do it.

The Seahawks still have to play the Chargers, who have to keep winning to secure home-field advantage. (The Colts are 10-2 and the Ravens - who beat the Chargers - are 9-3 and have the tiebreaker against San Diego.)

We just need to win our games, and the rest will take care itself.

I can't get into all the what if scenarios. Just one at a time.

Does anyone know where the Giants rank in pass defense offhand? because I know in his previous starts, every team we faced was in the bottom half of the league in pass defense

I wouldnt worry too much about that.

Hey even back in 92-95 it's not like we didnt struggle sometimes to score a lot of points against divisional teams on the road. A number of times we never broke 20.

The shame of it is that he did the same thing against Washington - got the ball to Witten to put us in FG range, but the team faltered in a flukey loss. We should be 6-0 under Antonio Ramiro Romo, but that's water under the bridge.

As far as the defense, the lack of a pass rush REALLY worries me. Why can't we get to the QB? I see other teams do it every week. Even with Ellis in there, we didn't harass the QB enough and now we miss what he brought to the table. Romo has been like a miracle. Gramatica was like a miracle yesterday. Now we need a miracle on defense - and soon!

He was clutch, that is for sure. He is still throwing high early in the game, but I think that will be fixed with more games under his belt. He just seems a bit pumped and excited early in the game.

The first Int is on Glenn, flat out should catch that one. The second was a bad pass that he rushed because of pressure. He threw 4-5 away and escaped pressure all day long.

It was not a great stats game for him, but a great game nonetheless to me. I think that if Barber was not SO GOOD at the goaline he may get a couple TD's in the game, but if I had the option I would run Barber too.

If that is a bad game against the pressure he faced on the road in a big game, I will take it every time!

I too wanted to see the Cowboys in a pressure filled situation on the road when things weren't going good and boy did he come through like a champ! That pass was perfectly thrown and Witten made it look easy as he caught it....

Go Boys'!! :star:

I agree Ms. Mamacita, the Cowboys definitely need to generate a pass rush if they want to go deep into the playoffs!

I'm afraid to pinch myself as I may wake up from this dream.

It really does seem like a dream. Hard to fathom considering the nightmare scenario we've had at QB since Troy retired. 10 nightmares in fact. One after the other ... millions wasted and year after year of futility.

Maybe it's Karma. I don't know.

I'm afraid to believe. I try to downplay Romo's play, but it's getting harder and harder NOT to smile. :)

There's no longer any doubt he's the future of this franchise. But that doesn't mean we sit on our laurels.

We still have tons of work to do in the offseason. We need to continue to upgrade the talent of this team.

Tony is no bus-driver, but even a fighter jet pilot needs a good machine around him. Let's keept the machine tuned up so this fighter pilot can do his thing ... light up the NFL !!!

Hope is a wonderful thing. :)

i will be honest, when Romo rolled to his left and let that ball fly to Witten at the end, I was screaming NO! So many times, that is what young QB's do, try to get all on one play when they don't need to and I first reaction was bad mistake,, but he completed it.. and it turned out to be the right play and great throw and catch. I am really enjoying this team right now! Go Cowboys!!

That's funny. My reaction to him unloading deep was just the opposite. I jumped up and just new it would be completed for big yards.
Guess my faith in Romo is unsurpassed.

I actually like taking a shot down the field in that situation. Teams are often expecting you to dink and dunk against their prevent. Sometimes you can catch guys deeper in coverage napping because they often have "numbers" back thier and think the QB will stay short to intermediate.
Especially on the first play when offensive teams are usually so fixated on getting positve yards to start.

If for anything, that throw on the run was a BIG TIME throw. Even if Witten had to make an adjustment [that is what he is supposed to do] so TR said, giving the props to Witten. Regardless it was a BIG TIME throw in a clutch situation. I was sold after the TB 100%...about 75% until then.

Now I have no concerns or worries going into any game.

Even if he's no better than Marc Bulger or Trent Green, we should be very happy.

Staubach would start out throwing high. But he was dynamite in the 4th quarter.
