I've read the garbage that many of you have typed tonight over the last few hours. Romo sucks; Romo isn't a championship QB; Romo needs to go; Romo chokes too much; etc, etc, etc.

First of all, how about all of you who wrote that crap go pull for Washington or Philly. You'll fit right in with their fans.

Second, the next Danny White? Are you really serious? I only ask because I don't remember Danny playing on defense against the Niners when joe Montana lead his team right down the field in the final two minutes against the Doomsday Defense. But, you guys are right. It was ALL Danny's fault. Idiots!

Third, I've heard all of that stupidity you morons are spouting off about Romo before. I heard it about Terry Bradshaw, Jim Plunkett, Joe Theismann, Phil Simms, John Elway, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Do you Einsteins see a trend there. All QBs who's fans wanted them gone because they had a few tough seasons or tough losses. They were ALL labeled as guys who either can't win "the big one" or choke "when the game's on the line". In case you missed it, they all came back to win a championship. There is no doubt in my mind that Romo will lead us there. The kid hasn't even started for three complete seasons yet. FYI, Aikman didn't win a title until his fourth year as a starter. Of course I'm sure all of you "fans" were screaming for Steve Walsh to take his place in 89 and 90.

Lastly, the season isn't over yet. We still have a really good chance at making the playoffs. When that happens, don't try and jump back on the band wagon. All of you will be a distant memory by then. Just like every other fair weather fan in history.

Well, he has sucked lately, isn't a championship QB yet, chokes, is a freaking TURNOVER MACHINE...

That said, he isn't going anywhere, and can easily redeem himself with BETTER, MORE CONSISTENT play. He also isn't the sole culprit - there are many others who played poorly.

How long do you give him to find consistency? He's had 3 years now, the window is closing. We're not that young anymore

And all of you who defend him and coddle him like you do are sickening because you cant stop from being naive and think because somebody plays for the Cowboys that they have to be the best and anybodywho can realize they suck is not a fan.

People need to open their eyes, you just dont want to admit now that he sucks because youve invested so much in defending him that you dont want to look bad by admitting you were wrong.

I don't hate Romo. He's never gonna be THAT guy until he proves himself. I thought he was starting to at the end there. But we have a long way to with a OL that's playing horrible and a WR corp that is overrated.

Like I said, heard all that crap about the guys I mentioned in the original post. Of course, I'm sure they were all just lucky.

Window is closing? Come on... compare his numbers after three years to Troy's. Who else do you want to bring in? It's not like we have Joe Montana holding a clipboard.

This team is loaded - loaded - with talent. Romo's discipline problem and our inability to be consistent offensively is indicative of the overall problem on this team - 52 guys who show up to cash a check, with no offensive philosophy directed by a HC who doesn't look like a Downs Syndrome kid lost at the mall. We need an OC that the HC hires that involves the HC's scheme in HC's grand scheme of things. Not a bunch of "You betcha Jerreh" hires that work for Jerreh, not the coach.

FIRST OFF

let me start by saying im not a romo hater and will support him as long as he is our qb and i am a fan of his although he kills me at times

what i dont get on this site is how people dont think one play doesnt affect another

me and my friend whos a giant fan is always arguing about romo. he always argues how romo is always able to dodge blame after almost costing us gms by making a play or 2 to bring us back in a contest he almost lost in the 1st place

plus somehow when he finds a way to **** up the entire game. he pull a rabbit out of his *** late and the minute someone else messes up be it the defense or st hes completely off the hook

this brings me back to my post. one play effects another

you cant tell me if he doesnt throw that pick going into the half and hits a wide open owens and austin we dont win the game.

DO YOU PEOPLE NOT REALIZE THAT ONE GAME CHANGING PLAY LIKE THAT CAN EFFECT THE WHOLE OUTCOME

if romo hits owens for that td. now were the one sitting on the lead and those back to back runs dont happen.

go ahead pat romo on the back for his comeback in the 4th but dont act like he doesnt deserve blame. this isnt all the d's fault while he took 3 quarters off they were busting their *** covering up his mistakes.

I know to some in here it will mean nothing, but I think this could have been an important game for Romo. He had a bad first half, but when it all came down to the game being on the line, Romo found a way to step up this time. I am sincerely hoping that if anything came out of this game, it was that Romo might have broken through to be able to get to that next level in that he now has the confidence to overcome a bad start and come through and give us a chance to win. We lost, but this could have been an important game for Romo.

I am just gonna say this, I really hope that Romo breaks the passing yardage record for a single game against Philly next week. I hope he throws 8 TD passes and breaks the single game record of 7. I hope the man carries us to #6 this season. In that Giants game, and in this game, Romo had the crap beaten out of him, but he never gave in, playing through pain. He won it for us against the Giants and nearly pulled it off against the Ravens. He made mistakes, but the man is a fighter. I can only hope and pray he will lead us to #6.

He has about all the talent in the world, but again his problem is he goes from one extreme to the other. He's either really really good or plays so bad that you have almost no chance to win.

He just needs to focus more on the little things. I think alot of his struggles come from not doing all he can to be prepared, but thats just my opinion.

Dude, you have my sympathy. I fought ths same battle in the early eighties about Danny that you are fighting for Romo.

The biggest problem you have right now is that Dallas Cowboys fans are the most spoiled fans in the league. Super Bowl or bust is this city's motto.

When it comes to the Dallas QB, he is either a SB champion or he is garbage. There is no in between. Just ask Meredith or White. It is sad but true.

Danny played in the shadow of Staubach, Romo plays in Aikman's. Their biggest crime will always be the fact they are not Roger and Troy. Nothing they ever did or will do will ever be good enough.

I hope for Romo he is successful (and I think he will be) or he will never hear the end of it:starspin

Outside of a few players, some of whom probably won't be here next season, coupled with a great draft class,I think we tend to be on the younger side of teams in the league. The window may be closing for certain players,(,Zack Thomas,T.O.,R.W. the defensive back,Maybe Flozell, and a couple of others),but this is a young team.

This statement is 100% correct. Guess what? He makes that "game changing play" a whole lot more than he doesn't.

Dallas still had a chance to win that game, but Danny White fumbled in 49ers territory only needing a first down or two to get a game winning field goal.

The posters blaming Romo are extremely short-sighted. The Cowboys were having the same late season doldrums well before he got here. The blame starts considerably higher within the organization than Romo.

He has big shoes to fill and high expectations to meet - Fans want the best. Winning and winning big plays on big stages define a great player. Romo so far is a very, very good QB but not a great player - maybe over time but until then and until he wins a huge game when it's on the line he will be criticized and IMO - rightfully so.

QB get more blame for loses and more credit for wins - it goes with the territory. One stat for tonight - Romo threw picks Flacco, a rookie did not.

He also help to lay a big egg on a special night, that does not help change anyone's opinion of a big December game LOSER!

I have a major problem with Romo's leadership qualities. The final straw was after the Commanders game and we go into the bye week. Tony is asked if he will be playing in two weeks and he says "I don't know we'll have to see how it feels after this week". WTH. Aikman or any qb worth a lick would have said, "I'll be ready in two weeks. They will have to drag me off the field." His teammates were struggling and he needed to be the guy to rally the troops by displaying the courage to overcome the obstacles before them.

Tonight is another example. When things don't go well it is almost always WE and not I. I do believe he said I after the Pitt game but in the snippet I heard tonight he said "We made a lot of mental mistakes". How about, "I made too many mental mistakes. I should have never thrown the ball that was the 2nd INT"

Romo is not talented? Whatev. I am seriously thinking that Romo on those scoring drives where he lead us to 17 points was running the offense and ignoring the coaches. He was like the Romo of last year. Go ahead and give up on him, I think after seeing the fight in him these last two games he is almost there to really taking it to the next level.

You're a "kool-aid drinking" Romo-phobic fool if you don't see the problems.
He provides JUST ENOUGH bling, JUST ENOUGH numbers, JUST ENOUGH stats and JUST ENOUGH excitment to keep all the dogs on the porch.
But just when you need him the most, he fold like a bad chair on a cruise ship deck.
Will he get there some day? Hope so. Is he maturing? Maybe. The problem is, is that while he's going through his growing pains, it's happening in REAL TIME, when it counts. And it's killing us.
This isn't a trial run or practice out there. This is REAL TIME loss's. And Romo is responsible for the better part of the problem. There's no "dress rehearsals" anymore. Starting QB = production. PERIOD. END OF STORY..............
And, to this point, Tony ain't cuttin' it.
