Time to get a legit QB. :star:

We can win with him, but he has to do more to get better. He needs to become more of a perfectionist and do more to prepare himself for games IMO.

Dallas still had a chance to win that game, but Danny White fumbled in 49ers territory only needing a first down or two to get a game winning field goal.

That is true, but let me ask you this. How do you go into a prevent defense with 5 minutes left after Danny and the offense has just given you a 27-21 lead? Montana had already thrown 3 INTS. Why just let the Niners drive 80 yards? Landry got conservative, as he had done in the past (Ice Bowl in '67). Yes Danny fumbled, but in my opinion, it never should have come down to that play.
On a side note, Danny did hit Drew Pearson on a crossing pattern that just missed being a game winner by inches. Funny, if Drew scores how differently White would be viewed today. He out played Montana that day.:starspin

I know to some in here it will mean nothing, but I think this could have been an important game for Romo. He had a bad first half, but when it all came down to the game being on the line, Romo found a way to step up this time. I am sincerely hoping that if anything came out of this game, it was that Romo might have broken through to be able to get to that next level in that he now has the confidence to overcome a bad start and come through and give us a chance to win. We lost, but this could have been an important game for Romo.

I am just gonna say this, I really hope that Romo breaks the passing yardage record for a single game against Philly next week. I hope he throws 8 TD passes and breaks the single game record of 7. I hope the man carries us to #6 this season. In that Giants game, and in this game, Romo had the crap beaten out of him, but he never gave in, playing through pain. He won it for us against the Giants and nearly pulled it off against the Ravens. He made mistakes, but the man is a fighter. I can only hope and pray he will lead us to #6.

I thougth so after the fumbled snap against Seattle, I was wrong....I thougth so again after the loss to the Giants in playoff, It seems I was wrong again.

Dude, you have my sympathy. I fought ths same battle in the early eighties about Danny that you are fighting for Romo.

The biggest problem you have right now is that Dallas Cowboys fans are the most spoiled fans in the league. Super Bowl or bust is this city's motto.

When it comes to the Dallas QB, he is either a SB champion or he is garbage. There is no in between. Just ask Meredith or White. It is sad but true.

Danny played in the shadow of Staubach, Romo plays in Aikman's. Their biggest crime will always be the fact they are not Roger and Troy. Nothing they ever did or will do will ever be good enough.

I hope for Romo he is successful (and I think he will be) or he will never hear the end of it:starspin
I hear you brother and I know exactly what you're saying. To me though, those people aren't now and never will be fans. Those "fans" basically ran Meredith into retirement because Morton was supposedly better. I've always wondered what those same people said after Dallas got hammered by Cleveland in the 68 and 69 playoffs and after choking away Super Bowl 5. No doubt in my mind that Dallas wins SB5 if Meredith is still around and they probably go at least once in 68 or 69 if not both years. Oh well. Like you said, it's probably a losing battle trying to talk logically with fans who no doubt rode the short bus to school.

Exactly! The kid,and he is a kid, has been absolutely pummeled the last few weeks, yet has had the fortitude and guts to come back for more.He certainly has more guts than a lot of folks on this board.
And for all you calling for his head, just who in the hell would you replace him with? Come on,who the heck is out there that is the 'savior'? Draft one,you say? Well, that's a crap shoot too, isn't it. You know the premier QB's in the coming draft will be gone long before we pick. Wait....Maybe we can sweet talk one of the Mannings into wanting to come here....Or better yet,I just know NE will gladly give us Tom Brady. I've got it...Lets wait for 'The Dog Man' to get out of prison...Yeah,that's the ticket.
When Romo has his full complement of teammates around him,to include all his starting offensive linemen, his punter to kick him out of trouble, all his defensive players healthy, and in general, when this team is hitting on all cylinders, they are truly tough to beat! That hasn't been the case this year, has it?

Your right. It wasn't because of a blown assignment by the O-line that allowed the sack. My bad.

I've read the garbage that many of you have typed tonight over the last few hours. Romo sucks; Romo isn't a championship QB; Romo needs to go; Romo chokes too much; etc, etc, etc.

First of all, how about all of you who wrote that crap go pull for Washington or Philly. You'll fit right in with their fans.

Second, the next Danny White? Are you really serious? I only ask because I don't remember Danny playing on defense against the Niners when joe Montana lead his team right down the field in the final two minutes against the Doomsday Defense. But, you guys are right. It was ALL Danny's fault. Idiots!

Third, I've heard all of that stupidity you morons are spouting off about Romo before. I heard it about Terry Bradshaw, Jim Plunkett, Joe Theismann, Phil Simms, John Elway, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Do you Einsteins see a trend there. All QBs who's fans wanted them gone because they had a few tough seasons or tough losses. They were ALL labeled as guys who either can't win "the big one" or choke "when the game's on the line". In case you missed it, they all came back to win a championship. There is no doubt in my mind that Romo will lead us there. The kid hasn't even started for three complete seasons yet. FYI, Aikman didn't win a title until his fourth year as a starter. Of course I'm sure all of you "fans" were screaming for Steve Walsh to take his place in 89 and 90.

Lastly, the season isn't over yet. We still have a really good chance at making the playoffs. When that happens, don't try and jump back on the band wagon. All of you will be a distant memory by then. Just like every other fair weather fan in history.

Window is closing? Come on... compare his numbers after three years to Troy's. Who else do you want to bring in? It's not like we have Joe Montana holding a clipboard.

This team is loaded - loaded - with talent. Romo's discipline problem and our inability to be consistent offensively is indicative of the overall problem on this team - 52 guys who show up to cash a check, with no offensive philosophy directed by a HC who doesn't look like a Downs Syndrome kid lost at the mall. We need an OC that the HC hires that involves the HC's scheme in HC's grand scheme of things. Not a bunch of "You betcha Jerreh" hires that work for Jerreh, not the coach.

Romo got a late start. I agree on the coaching. I think Romo can win, and would like to see him with a real good OC. But those don't grow on trees either.

Like I've said a few times now. I don't want to see ANY of you claiming to be Cowboys fans when Romo leads the team to a championship.

Well Romo makes me sick. I will say, the last 2 years he made the playoffs and then he blew it. He just blew it this year. How many years did he ride the pine? How many years do we give him as a starter? I'm really starting to think he's a fraud. I wanna like the guy but he sure doesn't make it easy. Tonights loss was on everyone but Tony has had some very shaky games this season.

Your absolutely right, and I don't. I also don't believe for one second that the problems START with Romo. Like someone else mentioned. It goes alot deeper than that and has been happening alot longer than the last three years. Specifically, the poor late season play started in 94. That includes the 95 Super Bowl season. That's pretty easy math, even for the "Romo sucks" crowd.

No, they sure don't, and I think we may have a dying vine of our own at OC. We don't need the best OC or DC, or HC - just a consistent TEAM. Face it, the SB champ probably doesn't have the best OC, DC, or HC. Just a group with a cohesive plan and unity of direction.

The consequences will be of their own making. They will be spot lighted for the band wagon fans they are. You know the type I'm talking about. The ones who say they were Cowboys fans in 87, 88 and 89 but couldn't tell you one starter from those teams. The same ones that said they were Dallas fans in 00, 01, and 02 but couldn't tell you who Dave Campo was if he was standing in front of them. FYI
