Ok, let me start off by saying that I've always been 50/50 on Romo.
I know his stats speak for themselves, but yada, yada, yada. I root for him, want him to win, etc. You get the message.
However, today while listening the The ticket at work, I heard another one of Romo's 10 second cut-ins about the upcoming game. And for some reason, this one really struck me the wrong way.
Basically, Romo was talking about the Bears game, and he said the same thing that he always says:
"we just have to go out there and continue to improve as a football team"
You know what Romo, I'm tired of the talk about "improving". Or "continuing to improve".
You're in the freakin NFL. Why don't you say that we're going to go into Chicago and take care of business! Show some balls! Why don't you say that we have a good gameplan in place, and we are going to go into Chicago and implement our will on them and leave with a victory. What do you have to lose? Don't just save the macho talk for the locker room. SAY IT TOO THE WORLD.
Some might say that saying that will fire up the other team. I say bullcrap. These guys are paid professionals. They know when to get fired up and when not to. Heck, every team gets fired up when they play the Cowboys.
This is a huge game tonight. Say it is to the national media, and maybe, just maybe, once, your football team that is continually trying to improve, will actually come out firing on all cylinders.
