I don't think there is any question that Flo is gone. It's about money and you have to have turnover to free up money to keep younger talent. Free has shown the ability to pass protect, but was very weak in run blocking. From what I've heard McQuistan is the most complete of the three tackles. (Marten who can run block, but has pass protecting issues)

I think the idea solution is to have Free replace Flo and keep working with McQuistan to either replace Kosier or Colombo in the future if they are unable to resign Colombo. Of course, Free has to dramatically improve his run blocking, or he will never make the transition.
Of course there is. He'll be back. He won't demand too much money.

Adams can go, I'm surprised he hasn't left early.

Free should be able to handle Adams spot, especially if we get a stud WR or RB to take some pressure off Romo trying to find an open man throwing every down.

I don't know I think that depends on where the coaches see McQ and Free. As well as how they feel about Flo. I don't think any of this is a sure thing and without seeing these guys in practice to see how they are coming along this is one big guessing game.

It would be nice to keep Adams, but I don't see it happening.

As some here have said, picking up Free was the writing on the wall. I don't want Flo to go though.

He won't? Then why were the Cowboys forced to franchise him in 2002? He wanted more money than the Cowboys were offering and was going to file for free agency. Unless he has decided he now has enough money, I don't know why he wouldn't. He is 32 years old and probably could still land a 3-year $30+ or 4 year $40+ million dollar deal. I don't think the Cowboys will do that with McQuistan and Free on the shelf and a 25 year old 6'7 337 pound tackle like Max Starks on the market. While Starks lost his job after the injury last season, I still think the kid has something. He has taken snaps at both right and left tackle.

Those numbers arent even close to what he'll be asking for.

It is time. He must go!
Here's just a smattering of bbailey opinions over the last 2 weeks:

1. Jay Ratliff isn't a NT.
2. Sean Taylor is the best FS in the NFL.
3. Fasano will never be any good.
4. We would be .500 with Julius Jones getting 80% of the snaps.
5. The Cowboys defense from 2003 is just as good as the current Cowboys defense.
6. The Giants are a better team than the Cowboys right now.
7. Wade Phillips will be fired after this season.

I hate to "poison the well" but this one looks like somebody **** in it.

Yeah.

We were sooooo much better when he was not in the lineup.

Don't count out Mcq. Sparano is high on him as well. I think it could be a real battle for LT.

I like McQ -- but I think he'll end up inside. He was supposed to get action there in TC and pre-season but he never really got the shot

Over the past three years, Flozell has averaged 1 false start about every 3 games, 1 holding penalty every 5 games, and 1 sack every 2.6 games.

Those are pretty good numbers.

If you are going to quote me...get it right. I said Jay Ratliff is really not a NT, he is just playing it because we need him to. Sean Taylor is the best FS in the NFL. Name me a better one? Tell me why JuJo does not get more snaps if you think he can handle more? Tell me what numbers Fasano would have to put up for you to consider him good...because I cannot forsee him every putting up the kind of numbers a TE drafted in the 2nd round should. And before you barf something out, remember that the guy he is playing BEHIND was drafted in the 3rd round. You are going to have to show me a quote where I said the 2003 Cowboys defense was better than our current defense. I said as of RIGHT now I think the Giants are slightly better....but that will change. I said that we would not keep Wade Phillips at the risk of losing Jason Garrett becaue Phillips is on the wrong side of 60!

Franchise Flozell this next year. IF one of the young guys steps up, trade Flozell to an AFC team that thinks they are one tackle away from the playoffs. IF none of the other guys can handle the LT position, then you have Adams without the longterm issues.

There's no need for me to explain anything in depth. You've sufficiently discredited your opinion on your own.

If they're negotiating with his agent, they're being unbelievably coy about the whole thing.

To ask for $7M/yr would be shorting himself as thats what guards are going for and he is a probowl left tackle. Ogden makes $9.1M, John Tait makes $8.5M, and Chris Samuels makes $8.3M.

USA Today's Top NFL Salaries (dated Feb. 2005 so it's missing some of the deals that exist now)

I suspect he will get at least a 3 year at TO money (3/yr $25M) if not larger.
