I just received my sporting news and they had an article regarding the MVP. They did mention Romo should be considered but he has not played enough to warrant getting the award. They reported that if he played in the beginning of the year, he would be a strong candidate. The other choices were LT, Peyton, and Brees. Just thought you guys would like to know.

After his last two games the answer is a resounding no especially when compared to LT.

LT is and should win it running away.
I agree but if it were Brees it wouldn't surprise me, Emmitt should've won his second League MVP in 1995 after scoring the then record 25 TD's and leading the NFL in rushing for the 4th and final time of his career with a personal high of nearly 1,800 yards rushing.

But alas they gave it to Brett Favre who like Brees was real good and had impressive numbers but Smith like Tomlinson was just awesome to watch.

I doubt it but I think he will be our offensive MVP voted on by teammates. Right now that would mean more in my view.

Not really. A strong argument can be made for Drew Brees. He's poised to break Dan Marino's single season passing record. That record has stood for more than 20 years. Meanwhile, LT has surpassed a record that was surpassed last year (Shaun Alexander) and two years prior to that (Priest Holmes) and two years prior to that (Marshall Faulk) and five years prior to that (Emmitt Smith).

And no one expected Brees to be as successful as he's been, while many expected LT to have such a season, especially with a green quarterback.

Right now, I'd give it to Brees, but I hope co-MVPs are awarded to both.

In any other year a strong argument could be made, but LT is shattering RB records and that is with 3 games left. SD has the best record in the NFL with a QB starting his first season, and a lot of that has to do with LT.......what other player has run for a TD, caught a TD, and passed for a TD in the same game?

Media MVP's: Donovan McNabb, Frank Gore, Brian Urlacher, Shawne Merriman.

Reality: Lt, Brees, Peyton manning.

LT is my choice. The guy is a threat to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. He just keeps getting better when he should start slowing down.

Not to mention he's won AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors 8 times in 13 weeks. That's just insane.

He's shattering a TD record not records. He's not close to 2,000 yards is he?

Second, I'm not going to down play his accomplishments but how difficult is it for a strong offensive team to get inside the five yard line and then hand the ball to its top running back?

That's why that record is easily broken, or has been. All you need is a great offensive team that stops short of its goal inside the five.

Third, he's not winning any records for catching TD passes or passing for a TD, so that's really irrelevant.

Fourth, the Chargers have a well-rounded team both defensively and offensively. The Chargers were expected to be contending for the AFC West title. The Saints were not expected to be contenders.

With all due respect, and this is not to take anything away from LT, but rushing for the most TDs isn't as impressive to me as passing for more than 4,000 yards, especially when your team is winning because you would expect losing teams to be in passing mode.

Drew Brees for MVP.

i have to agree. lt may be the best player in the nfl, but brees is the most valuable to me. the chargers would be a good team without lt, maybe not as good but still good. the saints would be trying to figure out who to draft at the top of round one without brees

LT will win by one of if not the largest margin in history. How the Hell can you give it to anyone else? He's on pace to average nearly 2.5 TDs a game for an entire season. That's just stupid good.
