Interesting Romo stats I found on another board

Here's an interesting stat I found.

During the 1st half Romo's passer rating is - 78.6 - 21st in the NFL
During the 2nd half Romo's passer rating is - 118.8 - 3rd in the NFL

We all new that, right? He's obviously a second half quarterback. But.

When the Cowboys go 2 Wide Romo's passer rating is - 61 - 35th in the NFL
When the Cowboys go 3 Wide Romo's passer rating is - 104.6 - 3rd in the NFL
When the Cowboys go 4+ Wide Romo's passer rating is - NA - he's not on the list probably because the Cowboys never empty the backfield.

When they go Shotgun Romo's passer rating is - 101.3 - 4th in the NFL

I just thought it was interesting to see the way the formations affected his play.

His passer rating on 4+ WR sets is 103.8.

His 2 WR set passer rating is so low because he has 6 INTs in 80+ passes. That's likely just an aberration resulting from the Buffalo game.

Take out that Buff game his passing rating would be around 110.`

I second that! Lets just count his good games and throw out the bad ones!:laugh1:

This would usually be pretty persuasive, but I think the disparity between his Buffalo performance and the other games is such that it's clear that game was wildly abnormal. That may or may not happen again, but like Wade Phillips, I doubt it ever does.

Here are my favorite splits for Romo --
Code:
[B]Opp. Rating[/B]
vs. NYG 128.5
at Mia. 92.0
at Chi. 100.8
vs. StL 115.6
at Buf. 49.9
vs. NE 91.0
vs. Min.	104.8

That would be one game out of seven with a rating below 91.0. Only eight other quarterbacks have a rating of at least 91.0 this season, and Romo has had a rating at least that high in six out of seven games.

Just curious...what is his actual overall rating over the entire 7 game stretch?

Sorry...too lazy to look it up :D

Thanks guys.

I'm betting he gets it up over 100 before the season is over. It's going to take some good games to overcome that Bill's debacle.

Well, if he has nine more games just like his average NON-BILLS game this season, he'll finish with a 102.4 passer rating.

He'd have 331 completions out of 522 attempts, for 4,496 yards and 37 touchdowns with 15 interceptions. That's if he keeps playing like he has in every game but the Bills game.

Unlikely, especially with the meat of our schedule coming up, and the games get tougher down the stretch.

All i want this year is a 2:1 TD INT ratio 4k yards, 90QB Rating and a playoff win.

Next year is when i expect a Super Bowl, with great Numbers

Knock on wood as regards injuries, but the way I see it THIS year we are primed for a SB run. We will be getting stronger with Henry Glenn and Tank coming back for us in second half of the season. Our O line, while it does not do a real good job of run blocking, is VERY good at pass blocking and wears D lines out. Our D is getting better and is already pretty good. With a 6-1 record we are well placed to get home field advantage. That has been shown to be very important as regards getting to the SB.
