Thoughts on this quote?

It's true obviously in a very literal sense. I don't know if its the right stance to take though. I hope he's right. I just can't imagine this team has forgotten about December collapses past... in that vein, is this team all that different (or better?) from the ones that've collapsed in the past?

Each season deserves to stand on its own, but as people we're all the sum of our experiences. This team - Romo in particular - has a lot to prove, and I think it has everything to do 44-6 and that Seattle fumble and everything else and it will continue to do so until they climb those mountains and get over them for the first time. This quote will fall by the wayside if they come out like gangbusters in December but it will have been somewhat prophetic if they fall limp again and drag feet into the playoffs.

He has to remind people the past is behind him and this season matters, than next season, and if hes still here the season after that. Right now Dallas fans are talking, but this is the same thing last year, now Romo heads into his bane, does he over come it, or does he fall victim again.

You have to run PR all the time, because as i have noticed, whoever screams louder is right, and if he wants to the fans to forget, focus on the present.

I guess I understand the perspective, but wouldn't you rather see him come out fired up saying, "Yeah, we're pissed about sucking in Decembers past, and we're gonna do something about it" rather than pushing it to the side as a non-issue? Romo's tried to please the crowd this year with his words, but he can't help but be real. And realistically, past Decembers have absolutely nothing to do with this December. You can call that a "literal" truth, but the truth is the truth. Romo knows it and can't help but say it.

absolutely not...he said the right thing...hopefully they all have this mentality that this is a different yr..I dont want them keeping past failures in the back of their mind, because when some adversity hits they'd be thinking "oh no, here we go again"

Personally, I want the starting quarterback of my one and only favorite team worried about the Giants and the Giants alone. If he were to allow himself to succumb to the Game 16/44-6/'08 mentality shared by some of his fans, he will have lost the game before even playing in it. That ain't too smart in my book.
