Just imagine ANY QB, .. trying to win with the defense we have, .. the coach we have, .. the microscope Dallas is always under, .. the owner/GM we have.

Romo has his flaws no doubt, .. but he has an uphill battle just based on where he plays.

I can certainly agree with some of what you are saying. It is certainly an uphill battle with the Owner/ no GM, horrible coaching, bad decisions made by the front office year after year, etc. All I have ever said is Romo is not blameless either, he chokes right along with the team when we need him most.. at the end of the year.

That was Orton, brainiac.

Once vs how many times Romo has choked?

What I found amusing about that game.. is that with what, two days to practice and his first start in God knows how long, Orton came close to winning that game. Only difference is that Orton had little to no time to practice, while Romo has all the time in the world. That game made me realize that we would still go 8-8 with Kyle Orton playing QB.

Lowest scoring home game by far all year and our only division loss of the season....yet you are crowning Orton as, apparently, equal to Romo.

okaaaay

And btw, that short amount of time to prep works both way. The NFL defenses have shown that throughout his career, they have always caught up to Orton and owed him.

Good backup, but come on....

And your latest bumbling post made me realize the next Cowboys game you watch will be the first. Buzz off, troll.

Thanks, .. the total ignorance against Romo has just beat me down, .. 'till I just don't know what to say to people like that any longer.

The man is an awesome QB and just about every stat backs that up. He also makes plays that are amazing that don't even show up in the stats. What he lacks are TEAM accomplishments. Hopefully, his team can play as well as he has throughout his career for the next few years and he will be a part of the TEAM success that has eluded him. Statistically, he is a HOF QB. If his team can step it up and help him to a SB, all of the absolute morons who believe he isn't good will be shut up forever.

Well said. For a guy who went undrafted in 2003 I would say he has come a long way. He's had a revolving door at about every position on offense except for Witten. Made names out of players who were here but fell off the map after they left. Crayton, Robinson, Olgetree, comes to mind and I imagine Miles Austin will fade too. And in the end he is working for an owner who has no idea how to build a team. Under those circumstances only the elite qb's of Brady, Manning, Brees, can flurish according to the media. But Romo has been doing it now for 7 years and putting up numbers to prove it. Is he perfect? Of course not he went undrafted and only two coaches took notice of him that year. Romo is here for 3 reasons only. Sean Payton, Quincy Carter getting cut, and him working his butt off for 3 years to get to where he is today. He has already proved to me what type of player he is under all those circumstances. I just hope the powers that be can figure out the puzzle for him.

We need Howard Cosell to narrate the bout in this thread
Whats to narrate? With Romo you like him or you don't. numbers don't lie but neither does the past. So there are legitimate arguments for both sides. I would much rather hear a cowboy fan bash him then other fans or the media.

Dallas averaged 33 ppg at home last year and about 9-10 points less on the road.
The lowest output at home by far was the 22 they scored in the last game of the season.
I think that's a little misleading.

Take away the highest and lowest, Denver and KC (48 and 16), and that probably looks a lot different. Schedule also played its part (STL, Minny, Oak, GB at home vs. SD, NO, Chi, DET on the road).

I would rather have Don Meredith sing to close it out, along with all the other Romo threads that pop up as people try to kill boredom.

Kyle Orton has never "won" a single game in his entire career, Einstein Jr.

So it should actually read, "You don't think the Cowboys could win one playoff game in 8 years if Kyle Orton could was a full time starter like Romo?"

Not sure who that makes a case for, to be honest lol...
