I believe that playing QB for the Dallas Cowboys is the most glamorous position in sports so the question I have is: If Tony Romo played for another team would he be drug through the mud by the media the way he is here and if we had someone like Peyton Manning or Drew Brees would they be treated like Romo?

I think you wouldn't hear a peep about Romo except he's a young QB with tons of talent ala Jay Cutler and Manning/Brees would be hung out to dry the same way the media and alot of folks on this board do to Romo.

Romo would get nothing but props if he played anywhere else. He'd be acknowledged as a talented QB whose inexperience costs him from time to time, but he'd be given time to grow before any persecution came his way. Unfortunately for Romo, as the QB of the Cowboys, he is not affored that luxury. He must win the Super Bowl and he must win it now and every year. And yes, Manning/Brees or anyone else would be critiqued much harsher if they QBed in Dallas.

Romo would be Marc Bulger if he played on another team.

Found a good system that could mask his deficiences and then flamed out.

I understand your point but I disagree.

If Romo played down here in Tampa, he would be held in a very high regard. Cowboys fans are just spoiled (I don't know why since he is the best QB we've had here since Aikman). Unless there is a silent majority, I am in the minority in thinking that Romo is here to stay and will be one of the greats.

I think Romo would be flying under the radar on another team....

He is a QB with all the physical talent to succeed, but a head that has cost him at times on and off the field.

Being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys has allowed him to date certain young ladies that he likely would not have got a wiff of otherwise.

The Carrie Underwood at the home Philly game... Romo played awful in that game and naturally his focus was called under fire.

Romo does two things and he as the QB of the Cowboys will be fine.... Protect the football and fix the perception of his approach and committment to the game.

O-line needs attention...
O-Line needs attention, DLine needs attention, safties need attention, kick/punt coverage units need attention.

Pointing fingers at Owens really helped take focus away from all the other areas of the team that failed along w/ Romo; especially late in the season.

That applies to EVERY pro athlete or celebrity and many of them do date "certain young ladies" because they can. Don't fall for the media hype. It is no big deal that Romo's ex is Carrie Underwood and his current girlfriend is Jessica Simpson. It is no big deal at all.

McCordsville,, there is really nothing to explain. Romo has enough talent,,, he may not have the head for it. He hasn't grasped what being the QB of America's Team is all about.... He understands the perks of it, he just hasn't got a handle on the responsibility that goes with it.

Boyzmamacita,,,, If Romo had not "caught on" with the Cowboys, he may have not caught on in the NFL.... Had Quincy not been cut, Romo would have, it was just the situation at the time... Therefore, he wouldn't be getting a second look from the likes of Underwood and Simpson....

$67 mill can also help what dating class you are in.

I think if Tony Romo would've played for a big College people wouldn't doubt him nearly as much.

People are still waiting on him to just completely stink.

If Romo played for another team, we would be saying something along the lines of "Man I wish we had a QB of Romo's caliber, instead we are on our umpteenth bum since Aikman".

I can't believe I live in a world where fans think that the local media has it in for Tony. TO? Yes. Wade? Sure. Tony? Give me a break. If they kiss his *** any more, he'll need to find some industrial grade Chapstik. 2008 showed some cracks in the media love affair, and deservedly so. That said, unlike The Player, no one's trying to run him out of town, and only the national tabloid press is interested in the Simpson crap. If you only want praise, then find another team.

I hope there's a huge silent majority when it comes to Romo. Scary to think that the most vocal members of this board these days represent our actual fanbase.

There's a reason why a lot of good posters have gone incommunicado this offseason.

If you remember it wasnt long ago that THAT was true. He brought this on himself. He had a Brett Favre-media banta going for a while. He blew that.

Romo has no shot at winning anything now. That is, unless he's traded to Buffalo...you know, where the greatest football player on the planet now resides.

Poor Romo...I feel so sorry for him.
