1st ever QB to WR connection to go over 1,000 yards in a season

with the QB and WR being former undrafted players

Austin is a beast... He's big and fast, a lethal combination. Romo is finally maturing into the leader he needs to be and is playing at a high level. It's nice to see these two connect like this, makes for a nice December.

Does one commend the scouting of UFA's or condemn the drafting of quarterbacks and wide receivers for this accomplishment?

I think you can just condemn the college system for producing such poor pro QB prospects

and applaud our coaching staff's patience and the scouts

This will be a great story if the Cowboys ever have Super Bowl success with this tandem. Austin's route running is improving, which makes him even more dangerous. He is the complete package: speed, pretty good hands, route running, run after the catch, tackle breaking ability and a nose for the end zone. Romo just never ceases to amaze me. He has been phenomenal from the first game he started and he is still learning and growing. As we strengthen our O-line, we'll come to appreciate even more what he brings to the table.

Well the NFC's two best quarterbacks played tonight, and both were unheralded, especially Brees even though he was a second round pick, but he played at Purdue and not E. Illinois and so scouts should've noticed he was the best quarterback in the 2001 draft.

I wanted him desperately, i thought Dallas would take him if they traded up, they traded up too late and nabbed Quincy Carter instead.

A man that was projected as a fourth round pick, although 18 months earlier some projected him the number one pick in the draft.

Romo was just groomed, he wasn't anything beyond raw practice fodder when he showed up.

I wish Roy would turn it around. I really do. I honestly like the guy and I honestly think he's got plenty of potential to be a great player in this league. I just don't know if we're ever going to get to see him actually put it together on the field all the way.

Well, it's really the same people. In the end it doesn't matter so long as we are bringing fresh talent onto the team on a regular basis. Careers in this league are so damn short due to the physicality of the game.

This is his 6th year in the league. If he hasn't figured it out yet, he's never going to. He is really not any better than Patrick Crayton. Heck, Crayton is more dependable and can return punts, too.

Hey look, another bash Roy thread. That couldn't at all be limited to the thread about Roy Williams could it?

Crayton had a great catch on that low throw. He comes through just when you've sort of forgotten about him. Roy took a step backwards tonight after 3 consecutive decent games. When he plays well, we seem to lose. When he stinks up the place, we tend to win. I don't think there's really a correlation, but it's something I've noticed.
