Romo to IR

Because Jones, Garrett and the entire Cowboys organization is incompetitent.

Or maybe it's a conspiracy to make sure the Cowboys continue to suck.

Now I know this is going to sound crazy.
But maybe his initial diagnosis lead the team to believe he could return. AND they saw enough benefits to the team as a whole in his return.

The "conspiracy" is the fans wanting to sabotage the rest of the season and continue to "suck" even when there's room to improve and get ready for next year.

Well, crap. I was holding out hope I'd get to see him play Saturday.

Vince Young was on the sidelines with the Titans this past weekend. If it is against the rules, then Young just broke them.

Maybe IR players can roam the sidelines, but I recall reading an article that stated they cannot participate in team prep meeting during hte week, based on the current CBA. Maybe the rules are different from that - if so then I stand corrected?????

:laugh2:

I'll assist on that one hornitosmonster. Would that make him a simple simpleton?

Maybe you'll see McGee? :laugh2:
The only way I want to see him is if we have blown them out and he is mopping up.

Sorry about your luck Hos.

I kind of suspected he wouldn't see the field again this year.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Yes, once you're on IR you cannot participate in meetings or be on the sidelines. Romo has done both this whole time, and this is why this was not done sooner (nor should have).

By being active Romo was like a QB Coach on the sideline, wearing the headset, hearing all communications and seeing first-hand how Garrett does things as Head Coach frome game-planning, to meetings, to game management on game-day.

By being active, Romo was able to gain this valuable experience through all 3 division opponents, and three other non-divisional ones. And now that the Washington game is over, it is now the right time to free up a roster spot to evaluate more talent through it.

The Cowboys handled this Romo situation perfectly, IMHO.

Thank you! I'm shocked that the "Jerry's an idiot" posters didn't know this. You cannot participate in any team meetings or organized team activities during the week leading up to the game. That was changed a few years ago due to Belichick if I'm not mistaken.

Again, a sterling example of why I'm glad fans have no input into anything that happens within the organization.

Even on injured reserve, Romo will travel with team

As standard protocol, the Dallas Cowboys generally do not allow players on injured reserve to travel to road games with the Dallas. But exceptions can be made, especially when the franchise player is involved.

Since he suffered the injury, Romo has been on the sidelines, providing assistance to current starter Jon Kitna and quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson.

"He has the headset on," said interim coach Jason Garrett. "He understands the plays that are being called and just communicates with Wade Wilson and with Jon Kitna and really with the other guys, too.

Yes and it should have be done weeks ago

name one player we lost because he wasn't. There are two games left, who cares if he is on IR or just inactive.

To take that a step further, do you want McGee and Kitna solely in the QB meetings, or do you want one of the best in the league in there giving and receiving input as well?

Actually, that would be a good scenario. I'd like to see him in a real game. In fact, I would be open to drafting a QB because Kitna's no spring chicken and McGee is still an unknown.

Yup Romo is such a bad leader that he travels with the team eben though his season is over and he's on IR and is basically a second coach on the sideline. [sarcasm]

Maybe cause the organization was hoping to have him play for our holiday spectacular game this Saturday.......give the fans the most exciting show possible.
