I wouldn't pay him what he'll want...

Matt Mosley is such a hack...

They are in a position that no matter what Romo asks for .. he is probably gonna get it. Cause JJ has no other option.

Of course he has options, play Orton next year, and draft a qb next year. Flacco just won a sb, Brady has won 3, romo has one playoff win, he should be happy with any contract that he gets.

I agree. Work on the oline this year and get best QB available the following year. We are talking about Tony Romo here not Tom Brady.

Exactly ,he is a complete meltdown player. He is definitely not worth what he makes now let alone what he wants. AZ can have him for a 1st and a 3rd.

Yeah, if this was tennis or golf, maybe so. Not to keep stating the obvious, but this is the ultimate team sport with 22 starters and 40 or so contributors every week.

Still, I do agree with your 1st sentence.
Yes we could take the alternate route; trade Tony, play Orton, hope we find another good QB via the draft, and use the freed up money to fortify other parts of the team.
That is an option.

Great article and true. Trade the bum and get a first. Start Orton and draft a QB either this or next year. Why does Jerry coddle this guy?

It may be a team sport, but a great QB can raise the level of the whole offense ala Brady, Aikman, Staubach, Montana, ect.....Guys like Staubach got ordinary men to do extraordinary things.

Romo is a fool. I say cut him loose. No way we should give this loser 100 mil to choke in big games every year.

Why do you think we are even .500 the last two seasons?

We have to look to the future.... Time to stop living and dreaming in the past with these over 30 players. The current makeup of this team will never...I mean never...smell a championship game or SB. Time to dump salary, dump players, do a dump of next season, take an Indy loop to 1x15, then draft best available QB next year in 2014. That might get us Johnny Football or someone who will be the next Luck. If we build a better OL, we might have a chance in 3 to 4 years.

Certainly not now...not ever with this group.

Oh cowboys fans.

Proving the stereotype right everyday.

Good thing it's lakers playoff time right around the corner and the Yankees will have opening day in a month. This will alleviate some of this type of stuff.

This is the funniest thing I've heard around here for a long time, what makes it even funnier is that it's true. But I'm sure it'll be used to no end now and be used to respond to multiple post a day by the same people that post that stupid star trek picture or the ones who keep saying "this ain't Madden". But this is a funny comment.

Back on subject, Romo is going to get paid. Either by us or someone else, but my bet is that JJ pays him as he should. I won't pretend that he's as good as Brady but to say he's not as good as Flacco, I believe is wrong. I don't believe he'll be paid as much as Flacco, but the Ravens over paid.

Im going to say this again. do not give Romo a new contract with all this money. he is not worth it. it will kill this team for years if jerry makes yet another stupid move. let him play out this year and move on.Cowboys are not going to win anything with him.

If Tony Romo wins, we'll never hear from most of the posters in this thread ever again..

He is not going to win. until people admit that this team is just not good enough. things will never get better.this team has missed the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years. do not pay this guy. make him play out his contract and make a decision next year.

Eventhough JJ did not pay much for Tony in the beginning and he probably did save some money he gained NOTHING, zero....Romo has no post season wins, no superbowls nothing.....Romo had no huge games in college he is not pedigreed he is who we thought he was....an undrafted quarterback who has a mediocre football career and now he is going to rake in the millions....good post

2009 just called and said wake the hell up.

Seriously dude, if you are going to bash Romo at least have your facts straight so you dont make a fool of yourself. Romo beat the Eagles in the Wildcard round following the 2009 season.

Romo and Matty Ice have exactly the same number of playoff wins, so should the Falcons follow your advice and dump him as well?
