So you can't overcome a 74 yard td by the other team? They didn't fumble the kickoff two times after that td to make it 21-0, romo had his chances to answer, and he didn't. You can't use an injury as an excuse if you play, if your are that hurt, dont' play.
You've made your position clear.
It's all on Romo--always has been, always will be.
Good for you.
So can we move on now?

I never said that, and for years I have defended romo, but the Commander game last year changed my mind. I am not saying the guy is an awful qb, but I think its time to move in a new direction.

BTW, I looked it up and it looks like the Giants didn't score until their second possession.

Dallas was trying to run early. Lot's of carries for felix (Murray was out). Romo completed 9 of his first 10 passes, but got sacked on 3rd down on three straight drives. New York had 2 other long drives for TDs in the first half, in addition to the Cruz score.
That made it 21-0. Right before the half dallas drove to within FG range and got 3. 21-3 halftime.

But I'll move on. That's old news.

I'm a Romo supporter but the lack of a line, the D didn't step up, the coach didn't call the right play, the receiver didn't run the right route, this all gets old. Its never Romo's fault. If you go back and look at Romo int's that have cost us games, and there are alot, most of the time he was under very little pressure. He doesn't know how to throw the ball away, sometimes he just chunks it up like he did against Washington this year. I like him but he needs to change certain aspects of his game. There are too many rookies in the league leading their teams into the playoffs and when they lose, its usually not a boneheaded play. Let Romo play this year and prove he can play consistent and play consistent under pressure..........

I sense your frustration and your siniscm.

I wish that Jerra, before he pays Romo all them millions, is to consider this:
What would Landry and Lombardini think of paying 10s of millions of dollars to a QB in his 30s who continually chokes and has only 1 playoff win?

Discuss.

Did Landry surrond his QBs with a crap offensive line and say there was no need to upgrade because the QB is so good at just running around and creating for himself?

Did Landry totally abandon the running game and told his QBs to go play street ball?

Did Landry have the team trailing by multiple TDs in just about every dam game and tell his QBs to just go no huddle and call all the plays at the line?

Can't wait until Romo leaves and we're stuck looking for our next quarterback for the next 5-7 years ... all your haters will be eating your words and then you'll truly understand how important and vital Romo was to this team.

Dont worry, the team realizes how important Romo is even if all of these GMs on this board think he sucks. He will get paid and retire a Cowboy.

Is this the same team that has 1 playoff win in the last 16 years? you should not be so fast to brag on what the people in charge of what the Cowboys think. their last 16 year track record is pitiful.

It just makes the amount a ridiculously prohibitive number (more than 20M)

Yea, if we try to slap the tag on Romo the price is astronomical. I read somewhere it would be like $23 million if we try to franchise him.

The way the contract was structured, the agent basically wrote in a poison pill if the team wanted to use the tag.

Come on now, he was sacked 7 times in that game and was under constant pressure after Flozell went out. Add to the fact the defense completely folded that game as well. He didn't play well, but he also was facing constant pressure all game.

You are spoiling the narrative the Romo-haters are trying to establish here, what the hell are you doing?

Dont you know that our defense was kicking arse against the Vikes, our o-line was just owning Jared Allen and crew, in fact, everybody on the whole roster was just balling that day except Romo.

The guy pulled everybody else down, everybody was balling but Romo, even the water boy was getting his freak on.

Man, that bum Romo ruined it all.

JMO but I'd be real surperised if the FO wasnt secretly entertaining ideas of Johnny Football for 2014, for a variety of reasons. Having Romo play out the contract leaves that plus other options (Bridgewater) wide open.

Not Romo's fault his owner thinks an offensive line is not important.

Not Romo's fault the defense couldnt stop a Jr. High school team.

Not Romo's fault the WRs dont know where to line up every freaking down.

Not Romo's fault we had the fewest rushing attempts in franchise history.

Get a decent line and something that looks like a defense and then we will talk about how much of a problem Romo is. But its a moot point anyways, because Romo is going to get paid and retire a cowboy like he should. You know, I know, everybody on this freaking board knows that is what is going to happen.

If you want Johnny football, you better get rid of Romo right now.

Johnny football is probably going to be the 1st pick overall, so if you want him the team needs to suck bad this year. Even with a horrid offensive line and Coach Tecmo calling the plays, Romo will win 7 or 8 games just by himself.

Clowney and Bridgewater likely top two picks. The team doesnt have to suck this year to move up top 5 to get who they want, just have to pay the price. Besides if they miss the playoffs or get knocked out 1st round, Romo will be a difficult sell at 34 to the majority of the fan base for the future.

If you want to do like the Skins and trade multiple 1st rounders to move up, I guess that is a way to go.

Personally, I go the route the Colts went. Tank the year, get your QB, and still have all of your picks to upgrade with.

And Romo is not a hard sell to the fans because most fans know this is a 2 or 3 win team without him. Even the freaking owner says Romo is the only guy that can win games behind this horrid offensive line.

romo is the only reason the cowboys stay in the hunt since he took the starting job, this team would be awful without him..but he is getting older and he stills makes bone head plays at critical times..romo has the cowboys by the balls, cause they have no one better but they know what romo brings but its just not good enough..jerry the GM has a tough decision, my gut say's jerry goes with the guy that keeps fan's alive cause cutting ties with the losing history would destroy this franchise..but understand romo's days are numbered mr.jones...WHO'S NEXT?

If Jerry lets Romo walk, half the stadium will be empty.

I will pay $10 for a hot dog and $12 for a beer to watch Romo run around every down and create something out of nothing.

I aint paying that to watch some vet retread or some rookie suck it up.

Jerry knows that a good chunk of the fan base feels the same way. If he gets rid of Romo, good luck selling tickets, parking permits, hot dogs, beer, t-shirts, ect.....

just my point..i dont think alot of cowboy fans really realize how bad this team would be without romo!! romo keeps plays alive which gives the skill players alot more time them normal to get open..but to win in the big games you have to have a offense that design's a play that goes in the flow it's designed to do..that's how you win in big games..the cowboys on offense depends way to much on romo creating offense instead of the play design to make the play..that's it in a nutshell!!

I agree with you that Romo is going to get all you say he will. im saying it's another big mistake by Jerry. paying a 33 year old QB big money who has won you nothing is crazy.he has 1 playoff win in 7 years as a starter. and has been out of the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years. THIS IS GOING TO BE A BIG MISTAKE.

When the hell did I ever say I wanted to Cowboys to lose? I'm pointing out that the fact that these Romo haters think some rookie quarterback can come in here and do better than him and that's just not the case. Risen Star has said it multiple times ... there is no quarterback in the league that can win this offensive line ... not Brady, not Brees, Manning ... no one. Some damn rookie quarterback is not gonna come in here and change things for the better. Fans here are impatient like crazy and are desperate for playoff success, but then some suggest we get rid of our quarterback who is a top 10 player at his position? That makes no sense. If you can add pieces around Romo, like some offensive lineman, he can get us deep into the playoffs and Super Bowl. I guarantee that.

Look what the guy has constantly gone through ... terrible offensive lines year after year, terrible defenses, an impotent offensive coordinator and a delusional owner who has refused to build around him. Romo may be a choker and may not have that killer instinct, but that's not because he ain't talented ... it's because he thinks he has to everything by himself. I can guarantee you everytime Romo drops back in that pocket, he has no confidence his offensive line can proect him. Do you think Tom Brady, Drew Brees or Peyton Manning have those doubts behind their offensive lines?

The only person I can think of that plays behind a similar offensive line is Aaron Rodgers, but come on Rodgers is arguably the most talented quarterback in the league. Add to the fact he was helped by a defense that created 30+ takeaways for him the year he won the Super Bowl ... when has Romo had that help from his defense? Never.
I love ya, but yer spitten in the wind my friend...;)

I wouldn't pay Romo what will likely be a ridiculous demand from his agent. Give him a reasonable 3 year contract, and then say hello to Romo's future replacement..
