SultanOfSix said:Yes, because he has "moxie", has started more than 8 games since high school, is excellent at golf, and last but not least, he's not Drew Henson.
LaTunaNostra said:Nors, your not so subtle point that Henson has been eliminated from the competition did not go unnoticed.
But it will go uncommented on.
That Tony is capable of 'pushing' Drew Bledsoe is ludicrous. No matter how many camp fodder types he may light up in preseason.
Give the kid a break.
His competition is not with #11, it is with himself... and the guy on Tuna's speed dial.
Being the Patriots fan that you are (just kidding, Nors ), you fully know that it took a Mo Lewis hit to knock Bledsoe out of the starting slot for Belichick to replace him with Tom Brady. And that was during a 0-2 start for New England. Only a similar occurrence here will result in Bledsoe being benched this season.Nors said:Bledsoe I'd say is a lock to start. But Romo has an opening if he can light it up in preseason games. Say he has a few 15-19 200 yard games and moves the ball and scores points.
Does Parcells start him if Bledsoe is so/so?
Nors said:From all I've read Romo has distanced himself from Henson and most prepared to run an NFL Offense. Now that said - could he take over for Bledsoe? On Henson, he is relegated to #3 and thats my opinion. The battle is really Romo and that guy on speed dial. If its VT I will officially bash Parcells. That would set this team so far back emotionally.
Romo is subtly on the spot as I read into the dynamics. Henson is going nowhere and will also not be #2. Its up to Romo to win backup job. That said Romo can go from #2 to cut if he fails in next week to 10 days.......
I'm pulling for the kid. And who's on speed dial?

You forgot "he didn't play baseball".SultanOfSix said:Yes, because he has "moxie", has started more than 8 games since high school, is excellent at golf, and last but not least, he's not Drew Henson.

LaTunaNostra said:I'm pulling for him too, because what could be on speed dial is scary.
Has Blake been released from Philly, btw? Huard from KC? (as an example)
We won't have to worry about something as ancient as Chris Chandler, (not after Vinnie) but ANY vet QB who has seen several (or a hundred) system and doesn't require milk feeding could be on that dial.
If anyone scoffs and says 'Tuna only trusts his guys and won't sign someone he has no history with', I think they are mistaken. Bill's just run out of those.
I recall Tuna once sounding off on why Scott Zolak was an excellent back up... we know what he's doing these days, Nors, but anything similar any bit younger could be on that dial.
It's up to YOUR boy to make sure that Bill doesn't have to dial up 1-800-hasbeen quarterback.
