Im originally from Denver and my brother in law (like everyone in Colorado) is a huge Bronco fan, we were talking the other day on the phone and he was talking smack about Wade Gump (Phillips) as he calls him. He was also saying how Cutler is currently better then Romo and it didnt take him 4 years to get there. Anyway I told him to put his money where is his mouth was so we made 2 bets.

Dinner that Romo has more passing yards next season.
Round of Golf that Romo will have more passing TDs next season.

I think you have a good chance at winning the bet. Romo actually had more yards per pass attempt than any QB in the league last year he is also one of the more accurate QB's. As for Cutler he was Denver’s 1st rd draft choice so it is not surprising to see him in the lineup in his 1st season.

I live in Colorado so i've had to endure watching the Donkeys play, and thus watching Cutler.

I can tell you that Cutler has the skills to become a very good QB, but i don't see it happening by next season.

I think he will have good stats, but he plays in a very tough division(except Oakland), and plays against good defenses consistently.

As far as the debate as to who's the better QB next season, it's not a lock to measure it in yards and TDs. Quarterbacks can have good stats in terms of yards and TDs but still go 6-10. The better measurement is who can make the plays when it counts to lead their team to victory or into position for the winning FG, etc.

In that respect Romo is better, b/c even though the FG against the skins was blocked, and we had the playoff incident, Romo got us in position for those kicks with clutch plays. And his play against NYG to set up Gramatica was another clutch performance, and his stats were not great in that game.

In the end, it's very possible that you lose your bet b/c they're based on stats, but i believe Romo will lead us to more wins than Cutler does. To me that makes Romo the better QB.

You should go to jail for stealing. Other then Denver runs the ball, and then runs it some more, TO and Terry Glenn almost guarantee you win the bet. He better pray Romo goes down with an injury...

That was my take/angle also.

Romo has a better supporting cast (Witten, TO, Glenn) than Cutler (Bell, Walker and whoever their tight end is).

Plus, Denver's blocking scheme caters to a running attack.

And Wade has already said he was going to get TO more into the offense.

Romo wins this one. Then, again, you are asking a bunch of Cowboys fans. ;)

I dunno... I really like Cutler. A lot.

Maybe Shanahan will keep the reins pulled in on him, though.

Cutler definitely has the physical gifts to be a great quarterback, and I'm pretty sure he has a bigger arm than Romo.

But!

Romo has the experience and intelligence. Plus one thing no one else in the league has. MOXIE!!!

Dont underestimate Cutler, it would not surprise me for him to be near the top of the league this year in both categories.

As raw as Cutler looked last season, you should win. Cutler would have to make some great offseason strides to even compete with Romo's numbers.

Cutler has a much better arm or at least on the deep ball. I saw Cutler throw a ball on a line about 70 yds last year after rolling out to his left.

Romo was better than Cutler this past year, but you are most likely going to lose both bets.

I live up here in northern colorado too so I've seen Cutler plenty, even watched him play in person once and man, I really think he's going to be good. He's wasn't quite there yet last season, but you could have some trouble with your bets. Cutler had 1000 yards and 9 TDs in 5 games last year, that projects to just over 3000 yards and 27 TDs for a season and I really don't see Romo doing much more than that. I think it's gonna be a close bet.

I banking on the fact that even if they were even talent wise (which at this point in their careers I dont think is the case) Dallas has a lot more weapons for Romo to throw to.

I agree stats arent the best way to determine who is better, but when he threw out the bet over yards and passing TDs I had to jump all over it.

Cutler has a better arm but he's gonna take a while to mature plus the Broncos love to run the ball, a lot...

Romo should win this one easy...:starspin
