Or he would keep checking out of runs and we would really hear the crying when Zeke doesn't get his touches. Sometimes you gotta run into unfavorable looks. Still got a couple of yards on that play...

Looks like he pick d up 3 yards. You can't check out of the run every single time. You have to keep the defense honest. If this was 3rd down and they had a running play called, yeah it would be an issue worth discussing. Just some random play and they still got 3 yards, I don't see an issue. Dak is checking out of plays on a regular basis. If this one got by him, big deal. It becomes a big deal when you can see this multiple times and they lose a game partly because of it.

I think he understands what you're saying.
They ran plenty in 2014 if you recall....many times into the teeth of the defense.

Just, sometimes, it makes sense to take the easier play.

The good news is these guys have each other's backs

Or he may have changed protection and checked into a different run play. He stopped checking out of run plays after the first game in 2014. But you never know. All speculation.

You're talking the difference in possible points or a punt...and in a playoff game, thats MAJOR.

QB's that cant read and adjust to the defense to exploit weaknesses wont go far in the post season.

Romo definitely reads defenses better than Dak right now, there's no argument to be made there. Tony probably makes the better play there, or at least attempts it. I'm not sure where I fall on deciding who plays. Dak gives you more physical advantages right now, and Tony gives you more mental/veteran advantages.

And he did that in 2014.

3-1 last year when healthy.

Pretty much how I feel..

Romo may give us more big plays but DAK just keeps the chains moving and the Cowboy offensive machine just keeps going.

Not a shock that a starter of 11 + years is going to see things a lot clearer and breaking down what he sees with various defensive formations quickly compared to a guy who had played 2 NFL games to that point in the season. There are things Romo can bring to the table that Dak can't at this stage of his career and no doubt some things that Dak brings to the table that are not strong suites of Romo.

QBs love to sling that ball. Ask Aikman if he would rather have 400 yard passing games and 3 less super bowls.

I agree but Troy would check out of a play if he saw an alignment that a defense was running that may be designed to stop a running play. If you see situation where the defense is loading up on the run or look to be in a run blitz situation often a good QB is going to make the defense pay for cheating up on the run and giving him the opportunity to attack down the field.

I think Dak right now is doing a very good job and as he gains more and more experience and as he sees more defensive fronts and alignments he will be able to make more adjustments and be able to attack those formations better than he does now. Dak is not a finished product he is just at the start of his career

How is it bogus?

People are reading into a snippet on a play that gained yardage, in a game that we rushed for 200 yards and 3 tds and Dak missed on 5 whole passes. This is ridiculous.

I don't think people are "reading into it," and no one is complaining. It's just interesting. That's all.
