To date, Tony Romo is averaging 30.5 passes per game for 273.3 yards per game (that's for the 7 games he has actually played in) just under 9 yards per attempt!. Bledsoe this year averaged 28.2 passes per game for 194.0 yards per game, about 6.9 yards per attempt.

That is a difference of 2 passes per game for 79 yards!

The stats show an enormous difference in every category between Romo and Bledsoe: Comp %, Yards per att, TD%, INT%, sacks, and most importantly, WINS! Tony's leadership, even when he is having a poor day, is to me the most important difference between the two QBs.

The O-Line isn't playing much better but Romo has such incredible pocket awareness and mobility, and ability to make plays on the move, as well as being able to go through his reads and look the defenders off of his target. It is night and day between the two QBs!

I know there have been a hundred threads about how great Romo is compared with Bledsoe but I just couldn't let this little tidbit pass without comment.

Thank God for Tony Romo!

all true

romo is indeed more effective than bledsoe. however, it wouldn't take much. bledsoe's rating this year -- 69. even quincy carter had a 70.

I still don't think his day was that "poor". We have just been spoiled by this guy so far.

hmmm.......by looking at the standings, watching the games etc.... I would never have been able to tell Romos made much of a difference. Thanks for pointing out the obvious there Thumper.

You are stating statistically what we could all see with our eyes.

To provide one specific example, the Cowboys have been using that five-wide receiver set a great deal more effectively. With Bledsoe you just covered your eyes because you knew something bad would happen out of that formation. Now it looks like the formation in which Romo is most comfortable.

Even though he is putting up some great numbers he may be one of those QBs where you have to see with your own eyes is worth to a team.

The most telling thing was what the sideline reporter told us Coughlin said at half-time with regards to half-time adjustments.

"We have to do a better job of containing Tony Romo. We can't continue to let him get out of the pocket".

Bledsoe can't extend the play and the pass rush knows exactly where he is going to be.
