This isn't really news. The final preseason game is always a game where none of the main people ever play. That game is more for the guys on the verge of making the team. Romo was not going to play no matter what his health status is.

No reason to play him in the last preseason game, you never have starters play in that game, especially QBs. If you play Romo, then you have to bring your starting Oline out too, and how valuable would snaps really be of Romo be playing a 2nd team defense?

I almost would be willing to bet that his back is sore today and may not have been able to play even if he wanted too.
