Boy Romo has his head on strait. I loved how he seems to see over the top of the day to day and realize what feels like huge things will not be remembered. The Philly loss will be forgotten if we win the superbowl :D

I think we should all follow his lead an care less what people say about our boys. If we win on Sunday, will it really matter what they say about the boys in the mean time? If we win the week after and then the superbowl, nothing that is being said now will matter a hill of beans. I think Romo will do great this week because he is playing to have fun and the playoffs are the most fun part of the year and as Romo said...."I'm not here to get to the superbowl, I'm here to win it". Take that all of the naysayers

He's got to know he's going to be remembered in 8 years.

I see his point though. I think what he means is the weekly garbage that happens won't be remembered in 8 years. He certainly will be.

And I'm not sure if you can consider that talking the talk. I think any player who's in the playoffs right now would say the exact same thing. No team or player's goal is to get to the superbowl or get to the playoffs. Their goal is to win the whole thing, obviously.

Remember he will be a 12 year veteran by then.

He'll definitely be remembered though.

Romo will be 35 in 8 years and probably his career will be winding down--after winning several SBs--and with a quality successor already in place.

Why is Romo doing 12 minute interviews?
Shouldn't he be watching tape?

Long interviews about retirement and vacations in Caracas...Romo has let the star get to him. I think Phillips should start Brad Jansom in his place to teach him a lesson.

Yeah, he doesn't think he will be good enough to be remembered in eight years? Where is his head? You don't see Brad Johnson doing long interviews. That's because he's studying. Take note, Tony.

I like when he made fun of the reporter's hair.

I've heard too many people who observe this team every day, from Steve Dennis to Babe Laufenberg to others, say on the radio that Romo loves the attention. Which makes sense -- otherwise why would he date a successton of celebrities?

In other words, Tony knows everyone is watching him and he knows he's a big story. He's just messing with the media.

Then Parcells can sign him for whatever team he's with at the time and maybe get another 5-6 years out of him.

You have to love the attention if you want to be a Quarterback...

Seriously though, for those who listened to the teleconference...doesn't he sound like the old fun-loving Romo of the first 13 weeks? This is good news indeed.

I still recall seeing him before the Philly game (BEFORE the Philly game) and he wasn't himself. No smile, no bounce.

I fully expect him to be back.

I watched the interview and aside from his outstanding performance on the field this year, I've got to say I am impressed with this guy as a person. I think he has the right perspective on things.

I like what he said about not living his life for perception but wants to be real. I think he also understands how fleeting fame is and he's not getting too caught up in it or taking himself too seriously. That's why he made the comment about not being remembered in 8 years.

If he keeps this attitude then I think it will keep the "celebrity" pressure to a minimum and he's going to be able to keep his focus on football when it needs to be there.

Go Tony!

I thought he played pretty TENSE against Philly.

Guess it was one of those games-the week after, Derek Anderson costed his team a playoff spot by doing the EXACT same things about their divisional rival Bungals...throwing into double coverage and missing wide open receivers all game long.

I noticed that too, great point. Romo is at his best when he's having fun, playing loose, enjoying the game. These past few weeks he has seen out of sorts, for whatever reason.

Then again, we can all be reading too much into this. That's what happens when we have bye weeks and nothing to discuss. :)
