Will Dak, Witten and others be under added pressure to perform, since Tony will be in the building and calling the game? Will Tony roast Jerry, Garrett or others for under achievement! Things will be interesting! Can't wait!

If he were out starter this week he would most likely be coming off an injury sustained against the Falcons or Eagles. Never mind, there is no way he would have made it through those games....

just because that would be the way you want it to be does not make it true. Look at Aaron Rodgers and Luck and others who are on IR and then go peddle your garbage elsewhere. Anyone can go down at anytime; and the punishment he took for years showed how tough he was. His luck ran out at the end on freak injuries. But just as easily he could not have been Injured.

And you know it. Others are pretending like it's the Romo of old. Missed practically the last 2 years he was here and others pretending like he's like some other player. If Tony thought he still had it he'd be playing for another team right now.

he correctly decided enough was enough since he clearly KNEW this team better than anyone else.

He saw this coming I bet. Not like he was alone in that. Once we do not have a talent advantage we stink.

Or he has a young family that he made a choice not to uproot and decided he wanted to spend more time with than the constant grind the NFL life for any veteran player demands... people forget that players are people with lives. People also don't realize how much preparation these guys run their bodies through pregame and post game.

Romo's injuries were flukes and unrelated. Broken collarbone(just happened to Rodgers btw) and they rushed him back too soon causing it to rebreak. Then a very awkward hit to crack a vertebra that would've cracked anyone's vertebra the next season.

I guarantee had Dak tore his ACL week 1, Romo would've been on the field for Dallas.

The injury line gets old. Romo would've been welcomed with open arms to several other teams. The Cowboys made the choice they hope is the 10 year choice with Dak as opposed to a 2 year choice with Romo. They also made a financial move there with Dak being way cheaper.

Long story short, I appreciate what he did for this team and he was the same player when he retired. He was duct tape for a dysfunctional franchise. I have 0 doubts he could still come play if he chose to do so. Next season, I think he will have been too far removed from the game.

2 years of injuries. Everytime he got hit we'd be wondering if he'd get up. A lot of fluke injuries with him. I agree he has a young family and that's a big reason he's not playing. His wife is probably concerned about his future health. I'm sure Tony is too.No if Dak tore his ACL I doubt Tony would have returned and if he did he'd already be out for the season. 8 hits Dak took against Atlanta. Tony would have been out long before that. If Tony was in perfect health other teams would have been clamoring for him. There were none. If he was in good health and had a chance to win a SB there is no doubt in my mind he would have uprooted his family and continued playing. Winning a SB could get him in the HOF. He knows it's over.

OH BS. I saw tony take a lot more hits and keep getting up. This fantasy that he was made of glass is just an excuse. Or Carr and Luck and Rodgers are all ALSO made of glass.

I would feel a lot better if he was our QB and not our announcer.......
Why? What did he ever win? How many times did he even get us into the playoffs? Tony was a good QB, but he wasn’t Don Meredith leading the expansion Cowboys. Tony had some talented players around him on offense, thus his gaudy stats, but when the big games came around, he wasn’t a guy who could put the team on his back either. Romo was fun to watch, and by the time he’d reached the final years, he made fewer errors and knew where to go with the ball, but if he was the football god many remember, he had good enough teams to win a few playoff games.
