What was the down and distance again? He had Murray wide open on a dump off and looked to have Witten coming open across the field, but he refused to take them. What happened there?

In case anyone forgot, the Eagles only brought 3 guys on that play. With our OL the last thing Romo should be concerned about is getting hit like that.

He needs to get the ball out. Usually he is rewarded this season for the trust in the OL, so I don't blame him, but at that point in the game focusing on converting a 3rd and 19 against coverage that deep in their area....throw safe or punt.

He messed up it happens. He then bounced back and dominated the rest of the game.

He should have understood the game situation and handled it better. We were up and deep in our own territory. Take what D give you and punt. It's ok to punt rather than taking a sack or turnover. This was institutional football.

But other than this play, Romo played lights out.

the only thing that bothered me was all the OL standing around with the ball on the ground.

this.... I'd have cut Leary's *** right then and there for that! THE BALL HITS HIM IN BOTH KNEES FOR GOD SAKES!

Maybe not cut him, but you get the idea... :muttley:

I never fully understood the tuck rule, but I thought if the QB lost the ball before pulling it back to his body it was an incomplete pass...?

Yep, you're right. But the tuck rule was abolished prior to the 2013 season.

Someone (can't remember who but I think it was NFLN) ran a clock on the play, and Romo had 9+ seconds from snap to fumble.

I know the OL is awesome, but at some point much earlier, the ball has to go.

That said, outside of that play, he played a good game.
