Great cherry pick! That also says "highlights" but go ahead and cherry pick some more!

The guy that you're debating with said during training camp that Mincey was the worst player in the NFL and should be cut immediately. Mincey went on to be a top 5 player on the Cowboys defense and their best DE.

The man looks malnourished so I am not too worried about his measurables. He comes from a small program. Give him some time with a professional strength and conditioning staff where he can gain 10 pounds of good lean muscle and I gauruntee you he will run faster and jump higher. He stood out to me in both training camp live videos and his film was really good. To be honest I would rather take a 6'3 guy that runs 4.7 with a 30 inch vert who knows how to use his size than to have a 5'10 guy who runs 4.55 and jumps 35 inches. Neither guy in that scenario is an outstanding athlete bit the 6'3 guy has rare size for the position and if he has a feel for how to use his size he can make up for the lack of explosiveness

Unfortunately, with the rules we have today giving the advantage to receivers, a corner who runs 4.7 isn't going to cut it in the NFL. He only has five yards to chuck receivers, and he'll have little ability to catch up to a precise route runner who is also faster than he.

I see fans are making comparisons to Everson Walls, but Walls played during an era when you could mug the receivers or grab him to slow him down, just as long as you didn't do it with the ball in the air. You can't even touch the receiver now after five yards.

4.7 for a corner is molasses slow.

Dude why do you even care? Because he doesnt evaluate like you? I love all different types of insight from different people. It gives more prospective and things to look for. Not sure why you have to attack the guys opinion so aggressively.

Keep it up Diggy!

My bad. I thought I was posting on a message board. Guess I didn't realize I had to agree with everyone. All I did was make note the the Czar of football has Ron Fields as a first round grade. Mentioned a couple of his "rankings" from last year that were way off base. I could care less what he does. If he has the ability to dedicate a lot of time to doing something that he clearly likes, great.

Yes, and Mincey was awful the first 10 games of the year. I never said they should have cut him. We had no one else. I said the defense wouldn't be any good as long as he's a starter. The defense was below average. Lawrence would have beaten Mincey out in camp had he stayed healthy. He will play much more at DE than Mincey does this year.

The team has so much faith in Mincey that they signed Hardy and drafted Gregory and Russell.

Hang on to your Mincey love. He's still JAG - at best.

4.69 40, 29 inch vert, 4.51 short shuttle, 7.40 three cone.

That would probably put him as the worst athlete in the league @ CB.

Guys like Richard Sherman and Sean Smith are pretty good athletes on top of being tall.

Those measureables are very suspect for an OLB - never good enough for a DB.........

That is not a complete game, it is highlights of the opponent SFA. Any defense is going to look bad in the highlights of the opponent. It is impossible to know what happened on that TD without the All-22 view.

Try watching complete games. He was a terrific player in college. I'm not saying that translates to the NFL, but he was terrific in college. He does lack deep speed.

Sorry, I have better things to do than watch the All 22 of a spare like Ron Fields. Knock yourself out. And why don't you put all your extensive knowledge to work as well like the Czar. Maybe you could be the High Priest of football.

Regardless of "the Czar's" football opinions, he does have terrific production values for a blogger type media person. His production and presentation in his videos is significantly more professional than the mess that the DC.com people put out.

I don't expect fans to watch the All-22 or to spend a huge amount of time reviewing game footage of player; however, once someone has a very strong opinion, then I do expect them to back it up with game study; otherwise, it's just an uninformed opinion which is basically worthless.

You unequivocally said they should cut him. At the cut down date you argued with me that they should cut him. You said he was terrible and only cared about making rap music or whatever he was known to do in Jax.

Awesome, so now he has germaine football evaluating skills because of his high production value presentations? Whatever.

And I've seen all I need to see of Ron strawberryFields forever. He's weak, slow, slight and played against no one. For him to even be a point of conversation is absurd. Heck, the OLB from A&M that tried out (Tommy Sanders) has much more ability than this guy to play safety. And I bet he doesn't make it to camp either.

I may have. But it was before Lawrence got hurt if I did.

Read again. I said regardless of his football opinions. The point is that he put effort into the evaluation. You watched a half dozen plays on a highlight video of his opponent.

I assume you mean germane as in relevant.

Personally, I think lack of speed alone could keep this player off of an NFL 90 man roster, but he was a terrific college player. Claiming that he was not is just silly.

The issue I had with this entire thread is that the Czar said Ron Fields was a better football player than Byron Jones. If you want to lump your eggs in that basket, go right ahead.

No, I didn't watch hours and hours of video on the guy. I looked for a representation of the 1 game that they played against a "good" team. Yes, it was simply highlights. But when this elite level, first round caliber player is consistently getting waxed in the highlights? Come on man.

It is not highlight of him. It is the exact opposite. A fan of the other team picked out all of the good plays by their team which is obviously the bad plays by him and his team.

It is highly likely that "the Czar" is way way off base in his evaluation; however, you have no basis to back up your opinion because you have not studied the player.

Are you basing that off the roster? Are there any tryout guys on that roster? I doubt it. No signings have been announced so far unless you have a link.
