I expect him to make the roster, but he's getting a little too much hype around here at this point.

Street is the guy that's I find impressive in interviews and in the rookie mini-camp.

This.

I am excited about his potential but that is all. I do not expect him to play a major role on the d-line this year but think he can make the team and contribute.

His best chance of making the final roster is 2-fold.

1. Spencer goes PUP
2. He shows he can play SDE and DT.

With Spencer, Crawford, Mincy, and others at SDE, this 7th rounder does not have the inside tract, but neither did Ratliff.

You can tell from yesterday he's not in football shape, but thats bescause his primary concern has been to rehab that pectoral muscle for the past 8 months.
Camp starts in 10 weeks. That is plenty of time to get in football shape. I'm not worried and can't wait to see him in preseason.

lol this guy is everyones favorite already and he hasn't taken a snap with pads on. I think he will be on practice squad this year. We have about 15 guys on the DL fighting for 8-9 spots. Let's slow down giving praise to guys based on "Indefineable characteristics" lol.

I'm not sure what it is... some indefinable characteristic, maybe the way he speaks or carries himself. Maybe it's his solid (not fat) football frame but there is something about this guy that I like. He is one of the few players that when I look at him, I say to myself, "I wonder how much he'll play?" not if he'll play. I know he is a late rounder but I don't have the "wonder" about him.... he will stick. Does anyone else get this impression? Is there anyone else you get this feeling about?

Yes I think he will stick. For some reason why seem to find gems in the later rounds. Remember Ratcliff? He had one of the best 3 cone time which is a true indicator of how good a dlinemen can become.

Sure, I get that. I'm not saying he will be the second coming either. I just feel like he's a good, solid football player... grounded and better than where we picked him.

I'm not arguing with you but ... Spencer? really? He will be lucky if he ever plays another down of football... ever.

Even then you can tell he is worlds better then the guys they have him going up against. I'd actually like to see him get some work in against Martin. to get a true look at where he's at. I wouldnt be suprised if at some point this yr he;s starting at SDE

If he starts at some point this year, I hope it's because he earned it, and not because of injuries. Cowboys have suffered more than their share of injuries the last couple years.

A fair assessment. Let them hope though.

he can probably play SDE, as his speed is too slow going on the weak side.

"Street is the guy that's I find impressive in interviews and in the rookie mini-camp."

was referring to that comment

Aah yes. Street might be the most impressive of the draft pick in interviews. He also was the star of the portions of the rookie-mini camp that I saw.
