Interesting tidbit in Eatman's July 9 article. I know most of us thought CB Courtney Brown would be getting attention but it appears Ball has shown enough to attract attention; Ball participated in all the OTAs & minicamps. Brown was unable to attend any of the OTAs since he was stuck at his school until he finished all his exams the day before the final minicamp. So Brown's got a lot of catching up to do once TC starts but both need time to develop. Look forward to hearing/watching both players as they attempt to beat out Reeves and/or Nate Jones.
Rookie To Watch: Alan Ball
The Cowboys drafted two cornerbacks in the seventh round, just like in 2004 when they added Nate Jones and Jacques Reeves. Who knew both would stick around for three seasons and be reporting for their fourth camp?
But those two vets will get a strong push to claim the final cornerback spots from rookies Courtney Brown and Alan Ball, who was rather impressive over the summer. Ball, a second-team All-Big 10 pick last season at Illinois, matches up well against NFL receivers with his 6-1, 182-pound frame. Cowboys defensive coordinator Brian Stewart said, "I really, really like Ball as a young guy. He's showed us some good things already."
