It looked to me RW was on a collision path with Plax. I am sure he would have laid the wood and had some impact. I understand a ref is part of the field however they need to stay out of the middle of a play...

That game was a poor performance by the refs all the way around. Two things that hurt us that come to mind: the overturn of Manning's fumble may have been the worst call ever, and the pass interference no call against the guy who was covering Witten on third and long. That guy was two steps too early. No excuses though, we lost that game either way.

Maybe if Roy had really laid wood to that ref, he would think twice next time and stay out of the way!

If Roy had laid out the ref he would be suspended for the rest of the year- "inadvertant" or not. Would have been fun to watch, though.

TO had a nice pushoff once....so we can't cry about refs for the drubbing we took. Either way...all the refs suck throughout the league for every game so there is no use in about it.

Don't forget the hold on JJ when Romo threw the pick to Robbins. We had our chances and just couldn't do it, it's the same sad story for the last 4-5 years.

this is the exact thing that bugs me about roy and his cover abilities. as all you speculate he was on his path to "lay the wood" as he always does. what he needs to do instead of going for the big hit is make a play on the ball. i know a deflection isnt as flashy as a monster hit but its the more effective play.

It's hard for me to determine if Roy would have actually made the play or if this is a convinient excuse for him. Either way, Shockey abused him once again. Not Roys best game.

We don't know if Roy was going to make a play on the ball or not. The reason he ran over the ref is because he was looking back and tracking the ball in flight. Also, Watkins played horribly on that play. He didn't even try to do anything to stop Burress from catching the ball.

I'm sure Roy will get a $15,000 penalty and they'll say he led with his helmet/horse-collared the ref when he took him down.

That Back Judge was in the wrong position. I hope the league looks at it and suspends him.

That was disappointing to see a ref get in Roy's way like that.......terrible

I love the optimism you guys have....last week Roy is in perfect position and misjudges the ball to allow a td...this week, you actually think he'd have made a play...why?

I blame the coaches...Watkins and Roy have both proven that deep coverage is not their strength, yet there we are with Watkins one on one with Plaxico after 7 yards where the cb let him go and stayed short. Roy just happened to read it and leave his side of the field to come help.

That's some pretty stupid coverage on the first series after last week.

I didn't see it that way, but I did see Burris push off on the interception by Newman who was in no position to make the play...our cb''s can't find the ball.

as an old time Cowboy fan I will never get over the ref putting a pick on Cliff Harris just as he was about to tackle Franco Harris who went on to run for a long td in SB 13, a game the Steelers won by 4. Ref interference always brings that memory back.

I would've like to have seen Roy have the chance to make the play. My neighbor referees high school football games and he told me that there was no excuse for the back judge to be in that position on a ball like that.

Like I've said before, it didn't cost us this game. But it still sucks and I've grown sick and tired of terrible officiating. In the Jax game, the Witten "push off" was pretty tick tack and inconsistent. At least I could *see* the reasoning behind that flag. But in the Philly game, how they missed illegal contact by Trotter on Witten on the Lito INT is beyond me. Then they just stunk up the joint throughout this entire game.

The sad thing is that the head ref for this game was the same one that overturned the Polamalu INT in the Colts playoff game last year. Not sure why this guy keeps getting to referee big games.
