It's a very nice gesture on Roy's part...however, and no disrespect, but this is getting way out of hand. Hopefully this will end the mourning and life can go on after this game. :starspin

It would be cool if they could make Roy's helmet half Cowboy/half Commander. Or even if Roy were to wear a Commander helmet in honor of his friend Taylor.

Ok Josephuss....that's taking it a little tooo far.

Actually most of the fans at Extreme thought it was classy, and blasted the few idiots that thought it was low. Sometimes people can't seperate real life from football. You would think fans could understand this, since we aren't even playing the dang game.

I just love the sainting of Sean Taylor by Skin fans

I agree. Over at ES, the myth of ST has grown from being one of the top 3-4 safety's in the game today to being The greatest of all time in which no one can walk on the ground that ST played on. It's borderline absurd at this point.

If not and I was him I would do it and pay the fine.

Not sure how you would do it anyway since the league issues the jersey's.

A very classy move by Roy.

Sadly, many of the skins fans doesn't appreciate this classy gesture.

Who cares what the Skins fan think. Its been meantioned several times that Sean Taylor and Roy Williams were good friends. Im sure Roy is doing it with the upmost respect towards (his friend) Taylor. Im sure Roy could care less what a skins "Fan" thinks.

Honestly, I'm not trying to be negative at all. Yes, it was a tragic event..I acknolwedged that. But all this "we won by 21 points"..."I walked to my seat and it was exactely 21 steps"..."I took the change out of my pants and it was 21 cents"..."my daughter just lost her virginity, and she was just 21"...etc.

It's time to move on is all I'm saying. The exploitation is getting real absurd considering how many other football players have lost their life, some on the field of play.

I apologize to anyone if I have offened anyone...it's not intentional. But, life must go on...you can ride a horse only so far.

Peace...and rest in peace #21.

Well neither you, nor I, has the right to tell anyone how and when to grieve. If his team mates and friends want to carry it with them to their own graves, you've got no right to tell them you've had enough.

If someone close to you passed in a particular way, say in a car crash, tell me everytime you saw the type of car they drove, you wouldn't think of them.

Git a grip. Your comparisons are absurd.
99.99% of the population grieves in private.
Yet the NFL was hijacked to serve the purposes of the Commanders purposes. To win games.
This outpouring of love and fealty and abject emotional woundedness went waaaayyy over the top. Even by otherwise levelheaded people here.
Yes, Sean was a finalist for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Yes, he was the finest human being since Sister Teresa.
Yes, he was on par to become the best NFL player in the history of this universe and all yet unknown universes....
Stop it!
You can cry in privacy.
But there is no crying in the Zone, crybaby Count Chocula.

anyone know if roy called st's family before doing so? i only ask cause i remember when LA went to the niners he called Tui's widow to ask her if he could wear #71 in Mark's honor. I always thought that was pure class by LA.

3. I think the nicest gestures of the week belong to Dallas safety Roy Williams and the Commanders. Washington listed the late Sean Taylor as their starting safety for Saturday's playoff game. On the other hand, Williams, who was named to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Taylor, said he will have something special for the Taylor family in Honolulu, and this is what it is: He'll switch from his uniform number, 31, and wear Taylor's number, 21, for the game. A brilliant idea and nice tribute to the memory of a man who's been an inspiration to players and people in and out of the Washington organization.

Good stuff by Roy man..
