Seems like the bandwagon now is to throw poor RW under the bus, yet again. I see names like Dawkins, Reed, Polomalu and even Ronnie Lott getting thrown around and comparions being drawn. Do you guys even watch games other than the Cowboys or do you catch a highlight of Ed Reed getting credit for a TD for a takeaway by a fellow Raven defender? I'm not here to argue RW is the BEST but I am here to defend him against EVERYONE attacking his angles and this and that and so on. For those 3 or 4 names of safeties that "apparently" are better than RW there are 25-50 other starting safeties in the league that would be replaced by RW in a heartbeat if teams had the chance. No one in this league is perfect and you must realize this. RW is overrated? By us as Cowboy fans maybe, but the media doesnt over hype him. We as Dallas fans support our team and in our minds hyped RW up to be superman. Therefore, when he makes a mistake, we get all broken up about it. If you watch other games other than ours you will see it happens all the time. People challeneg defenses deep every Sunday and sometimes it pays off. Ed Reed has been burnt deep, Troy Polomalu has been burnt, Dawkins, Lott and so on. Stop getting on his case for 1 or 2 plays. Football is 4 quarters, 60 minutes and played by 40 players. To judge a game based on seconds of gameplay by an individual is ridiculous. Blame the TEAM. Enough pointing fingers at 1 or 2 guys... players or coaches. Get off TO's back, yah we are all mad he dropped a pass but even the greats have dropped passes. Get off RWs back, even the greats got burnt for TDs. Instead of picking our own team apart pick some positives out and have hope we will one day be where we want to be. 70s were great, 80s not so great, 90s were great, 2000s not so great. Every 10 years we put something togther and we roll. Have some hope and support our players.

( yeah, not so organized but its more of a rant )

You can twist it anyway you want but he down right stinks in coverage. Whether its zone support of the CBs or man to man he continually misjudges the ball once its in the air.

It always happens in Big games, the Eagles Gaints and Skins no he can be beat in coverage and they continuously make him prove otherwise...Truthfully he has the speed and tuffness and needs to be moved to OLB...

If he continuely misjudges the ball when it is in the air. Please explain to me how he is tied for 2nd among safeties in INT's AND tied for FIRST among safeties in Passes defensed?

And this is not just SS's this is ALL safeties....

How dare you bring logic and stats into these kinds of discussions.

Because these people that say he isnt as good compared to these other "great" safeties dont watch other games. They dont realize that mistakes happen by the rookies, by the vets, the young and the old. Does anyone bat 1.000 in baseball? Any goalies out there w. a 0 GA? Is there even a free throw shooter of 100%? Like I said, its not 1 mans fault... its a team to blame.

well let me tell you that Roy had plenty of time to think about what he was doing, when he ran across the field for that penalty.

To me, he should of had an interception. But NOOOOOOOOO, "let me put my dumb@$$ hat on, and knock his lights out".

It was "incedental" tripping - 1 of those bad angles he takes. This however did not cost us the game.

never ever will i hold one man accountrable for a loss. Lovie Smith said it yesterday after the bears loss to the fins. "it starts from me and goes down." that was order of blame HC then it branches down to everyone else

I know I know.... We can't use facts and logic when everyone else is tring to think like a teenage girl....

Never mind, that is an insult to teenage girls.... They do a MUCH better job of using logic than most people on this board.....

Great post.

I didn't used to think so, but I am really starting to believe we are just consistently out coached. I try to believe in Zimmer, but our schemes are so pathetic it gets hard to. When our D-lineman is saying we are cant stunt or blitz because the coaches don't trust the players, I have to wonder what the heck is going on.

My personal new favorite to get around the use of stats and sense is to say that Roy doesn't play well in big games. I guess the losses are the only "big" games though. he's played awfully well in the victories this team has had, and he hasn't been the culprit in the losses.

Hey, there are a lot of people who can be blamed for yesterday. Roy's bad play was just one. Instead, we see the usual grasping of straws...

YOu know whats funny. People cry about how overrated Roy is, and the sad part he's the best SS out there. You can name whoever you want, and i can go find plays where that player has cost them a game. Roy is a cataylmic player, he can change games, for good or for worse. When you have a great player you have to take the mistakes that comes with it. I understand that as fans we should be 16-0, 40 PPG with 0PA, but that doesnt mean its reality. These guys are human. They have mental mistakes. Cause not a single person in here can tell me they've never once made a mistake on the job. What no one fails to realize si that this is a job. I dont care how much they get paid, its still a job, and players have the right to make a mistake on the job. Why, cause you make mistakes to.

It's called being human people

Roy, TO, Glenn, BP

There's all human, they have the right to make mistakes, and not be perfect game in and game out. Some people need to understand that.
