How does everyone feel about that? I personally think it is great. He's just as big as TO. Just as fast as TO. He has better hands than TO (less dropped balls). And he is many years younger than TO. Coming into training camp he will get all of the reps TO used to get so come opening game he will be fully acclimated with Romo. We still feature big-time weapons in Witten, Felix Jones, the Barbarian, and (hopefully) Miles Austin - so there won't be "too" much pressure on RW to produce. With those types of players surrounding him he'll be free to do what he has done in the past. So I'm putting out there right now: Roy will have a Pro-Bowl year and Dallas will shock the world.

Who's with me? :flagwave:

If he's healthy, he will be good and we wont miss TO a bit.

And he reportedly showed up two weeks early for the start of offseason workouts.

Now I'm on board. Roy was a good signing now that TO is gone. I'm actually getting excited about the season, again.

Jason Witten is the #1A WR. Roy Williams is the #1B WR. And the Cowboys philosophy will be depending much more on their stable of RBs than the the chuck n duck offense they trotted out there last year to appease certain egomaniacs and certifiable nutjobs.

we'll need a better number 2 with Roy as number 1

I've always been a Roy Williams fan and am happy to see this. I think he can do it. Crayton is our #2 for the time being, a role he's done before. If no one else is brought in, expect more chances for Austin as a deep threat to compliment Williams and Crayton.

TO leads the league in dropped balls. He wouldn't score well in running the gauntlet at the combine. Two dropped balls and you could drop a round or two.

I like Roy, always have, and I'm hoping that with a full offseason, and good health, that he can step in and be the #1 WR that we brought him here to eventually be. Hopefully, with TO being cut, this will motivate him to be even better cause he has to know that part of cutting TO was definately the team feeling that Roy could step in and be the #1 guy they need him to be at WR.

Also someone alert Jason Witten cause he's going to likely be called on more than ever now.

I think Miles Austin becomes the # 2 WR and Hurd will push Crayton for the third spot.

Roy is a better possesion reciever but TO ran the slant well and was not easy to tackle. Roy goes down a bit easier.:star:

I think the Boys give Miles a chance and the run game and better clock management is the ticket.:starspin

As long as Roy plays as a legit #1 WR, meaning win most 1-on-1 battles, score 10+ TDs and force the oppsing defense to often shift coverage his way, we'll be fine. We don't need Roy to be TO 2007. That would be great but not necessarily needed.

So with Roy playing up to his billing as a #1...

With Roy at WR, Witten at TE, a good QB in Romo pulling the trigger, Barber and Felix at RB, we certainly have the key components to having good offense.

Then you add in Bennett as a #2 TE, Austin's size/speed and Crayton's solid play in the slot at #2 and #3, ....I do believe we need a different type of WR at #4 in place of Hurd, preferably someone with more quickness/speed...we'll be fine

Nothing he did last year suggested that he could be the #1 receiver on our team.

We needed a scape goat for why our ship is sinking, nothing more, nothing less.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Honestly, I don't feel confident about it at all. But I guess since Jerry Jones made his bed for him, he needs to step up. I don't think that his results in Detroit or especially last year should inspire that level of confidence. Its on him.

I dont know....I had high hopes for Roy as a legit #1 Wr.....but I just dont see him commanding double teams and thats what a legit #1 Wr does.

He doesnt have the speed or the route running ability to cause the defense to double him.....IMHO

Our offense will suffer....8 in the box will be standard now.

I like the potential of Austin but he really hasnt proven anything yet.

Best case scenario is going with a two TE set......

I hope not. If so, we're in trouble!

Keyshawn was good in his early days and always productive but he was never a game changer or a deep threat. He also never lived up to his Hype which could also be said for Roy so far
