Look...

Roy Williams is going to be a free-agent next year if he stays. It seems Roy isn't happy there to the point he had to come out to the public and say he was happy in Detroit.

As somebody already said on this forum, Detroit can't hold him ransom and there is no need for Dallas, pr any team, to break the bank for him.

Agreed, I'm always amused and astonished by the demands made by bitter free agents. If they are known to be unhappy at their current location, they have already lost leverage in bargaining.

roy won't resign with the lions, so if they want something in return they'll have to trade him. that;s why i could see us trading Carpenter and a 2nd for him easy. we don't need carp and the lions could use an upgrade at LB.

No, it's not. Joe fan wants to see him on Sportscenter highlights with the big hit. The rest of his game is the exact same.

Completely and totally disagree. Everyone gets excited about stats around here, look at those. How many big plays has he had recently compared to his first couple of years in the league? Sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles, etc.

He doesn't tackle as well. He seems to use poor form on a regular basis and end up bouncing off the tackler more than he used to.

We haven't gotten into watching him flail around and try to cover TEs one on one.

I agree - what a horrid draft track record at WR.

And that some still covet these busts is perplexing to me.

How is a guy who has had a 1,300 yard season a "bust"?

He's not a superstar, but he is probably better than most WRs you could get at the end of 1 or 2.

Roy Williams the WR certainly has contributed more to his team the last year or so then Roy Williams the Safety. BUT, fast, good hands, a deep threat; if we can get him do it!

I would love to have him but I'm not overly convinced that he will be going anywhere.

I would say Williams has a ton of leverage. He would have to agree to a new contract with the team that trades for him or there is no way that team is going to give up much for him.

Otherwise he just stays there one more year and is a FA. I doubt Detroit would franchise him.

I'm not sold on Williams. I hope try for something better before trading for Williams. There is better to be had in the draft, and if the rumors of Larry Fitzgerald are true. Fitzgerald is far and away the best receiver in the NFL under 25. He is a goldmine if he is to be had.

well, if they would take Carp and a 2nd, O.K., then, but I have to think long and hard about one of our first's. maybe the lower of the two.

Detroit has no offensive line and Kitna holds onto the ball way to long. If Roy is on this team, it would make us pretty nasty.

Heres a comment that will get some conversation started.

Their RWilliams for our RWilliams.

Now let the back patting/bashing start. :p:

2 players with same first and last name... how would they do the jerserys?

just differentiate by number? or would one be "Williams" and the other "Williams from Detroit" :laugh2:

Fitzgerald is not a FA.

Anyone who thinks Roy Williams is a bust doesn't know football. The guy has been hurt a bit in his career, but he's only 26 and has put together some pretty solid seasons the last couple of years.

He may not have lived up to his draft position, but he'd be a great addition to most teams. He'd make a great compliment to TO.

I guess you didn't read the "Fitzgerald rumors" part. Roy Williams isn't a FA either. The rumor was that the Cardinals might try and trade Fitzgerald due to they already invested money in Boldin and didn't want to invest more in another big-time receiver.
