A rumor started on ESPN radio today that Chad Johnson could be traded to the Dallas Cowboys for Roy Williams.

Mike Zimmer is the defensive coordinator in Cincinnati which would be a reunion with Williams if the trade occurred. Williams already has his guaranteed money, so the Cowboys would take an affordable $3 million cap hit.

Wow. What a rumor. Thanks to acruther at the cowboys-forum for bringing this to discussion. Listen Bengals, we will even give you a second round pick and linebacker Bobby Carpenter. That will give your defense a much-needed boost.

If such a rumor turns to be true, this would give the Cowboys the most potent offense in the NFL, hands down. Whomever we draft to replace Julius Jones is likely to be an improvement. And the defense hasn’t even been addressed yet.

Imagine Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton. Tell me that doesn’t worry the NFC East and the rest of the NFL!

I give this zero credibility because we're simply not going to take on the cap hit to get rid of him.

Unless i'm totally off on my thought about his contract, and that could be but I've seen this reported too many times to think I am, that 3 million cap hit about his contract is totally wrong. It would be something more like 8 million and we're not going to do that.

I have heard, on talking cowboys, about a million times this season when people would email the show or call in and ask about and Mickey would say everytime that there was simply no way cause it would just wreck our cap with a huge 7 or 8 million dollar hit. So I just don't see why people don't realize that it's simply not going to happen.

Roy Williams

I know the fans want them traded. Not so sure the team does. Color me a skeptic of this.

I want Roy in shape to have a reduced role and increased ST role for 1 more season.

Carpenter is what he is an average NFL backup.

I like Spears and think he's a solid rotational guy on Dline.

Where Parcells will be missed was his ability to quickly flush his mistakes. JJ habitually over value's and over pays "his guys"

We'll miss his ability to win playoff games too.

I don't take draft/trade rumors seriously until mid April right before the draft.

This is posturing time.

It is more like $7 mill cap hit, not sure where they are getting $3 mill from.

For the 100,000,000 time....WE CANNOT TRADE ROY WITH $7 MILL CAP HIT!

But we can lessen his playing time and liability in coverage.
He's also another hog collar away from a serious suspension.
He is here in 2008 - lets deal with it.

Those are possible if you see someone, currently on the roster, whose definately better or if we wind up with a draft pick better.

He's no doubt here in 2008 and he's more than 99 percent certainly a starter and playing at least as much as he did this year.
