Definitely wouldn't get rid of any #1 draft picks. But the window is closing here, this would only increase our chances. Slim chance though.

Dang, we're trading for AP as well as Von Miller? Christmas came early this year! /sarcasm

Not worried about a window, Cowboys have some very good young players on this team and while the window for guys like Romo, Ware and Witten may be getting smaller that is not a reason to doom this team by getting rid of top picks to get Peterson.

Revamped OL. Weapons like Dez, Witten, T-Will, and Beasley. Elite QB. Then add AD to that mix? We'll not only be more explosive than Denver, we'd have a reliable running game in December as well. If he doesn't have to give up too much to get him, do it Jerry.

If we don't have to give up too much for him and we can squeeze him in our cap I would be for it.

Naysayers would even jump up and down if we traded for him.

All Jerry has to think is we have a real shot at going to the super bowl (even though it isn't true) and he will do some real stupid stuff. I'm talking Roy Williams dumb.

Only Jerry would fall for the Herschel Walker trade again.

minny had three first round picks this year, they still have jared allen, harrison smith proved he is a player, and they still have AP the hands down best RB in the NFL. Yeah, they missed with ponder, the good news is that there are some good QBs coming out this year and they are going to be in a prime spot to get one. They are struggling right now but dealing AP would be extremely short sighted as a good running game takes a load of pressure off of a rookie QB. The front office has to be feeling good about the prospect of next year even with this year already in the gutter. Look at what indy did with a QB, look at what the chiefs are doing with a decent QB, a run game, and a decent HC. This year could set up the vikes for success for the next five years.

I hear you, but AD >>>> RW ever was. AD is a HOF talent. Anytime you can a player of that calibre you do it. This is a win-now league.

Thats the part that was over looked, it can actually happen but we would have to convince the Vikings to do that. Only way would be to give them cheap young guys or draft picks.

Can't say I would be in favor of doing it, but anytime a player of AP's ability is available, you at least give it some serious thought.

We don't?

We have 3 loses this year, 2 of which whom came from the top 3 teams in the entire NFL while the other came from a top 5 QB(this year), and we were in every one of those games. We've already showed we can get down with the best of them this year, yet our very OWN fan base has already written us off with zero chance.

This is why I can't stand our fan base, talk about a crowd full of piss n' vinegar.

Consider who you are talking to. I swear, sometimes I get vibes that some of these supposed Cowboy fans are just trolls from other teams!

What Cowboy fan in their right mind won't at least wait until the Cowboys are no longer in the running for a SB before they spout crap like ufcunrules!

Jerry has said we would not be making any trades when he was asked about DL due to our cap so I really can't see us getting Peterson nor do I think it would be a good move even if we did have the cap space.

That is impossible. I have read on here that the cap can be fixed to sign any player and the cap is never a problem.

It's just an opinion man.. lighten up. It's been 18 years.. probably longer than you have been alive since we have won a super bowl. We have had 1 playoff victory since then. The odds aren't likely but you never know.

Who said that? The only thing close to what you are saying is that Steven Jones said that if they really needed help that there are always ways to free up some money.
