Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports one rumor making the rounds has the New York Jets (No. 4) swapping their first-round pick with the Oakland Raiders (No. 7), who want a quarterback.

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports one rumor making the rounds has the New York Jets (No. 4) swapping their first-round pick with the Oakland Raiders (No. 7), who want a quarterback. The Jets then select Oregon DT Haloti Ngata with the seventh pick. The Jets don't have a pure nose tackle for their new 3-4 scheme.

Raiders | Brooks is not the answer

Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reports the Oakland Raiders do not see QB Aaron Brooks as a long-term solution at quarterback. They will probably take a quarterback in the upcoming draft, perhaps as early as the first round.

It's pretty widely known that the Jets have been trying to intice the Raidus to trade up. Personally, I believe that this is why the rumor of Dallas jumping up to the 4th pick surfaced again. If I were the Raidus, I would not do it. Having said that, they work on there own agenda so who knows. They seem to love Vince Young but if we can believe what's being reported about Tennessee and there FO, they too will have interest in him. If he's gone at three, this trade will not happen IMO. I guess we'll see.

I'm pretty much thinking the same thing right now.. Young is a smokescreen. Maybe if Leinart didn't already know the system, hence cutting down his transition time immensely, I might think differently.

The other good reason for the Titans to say they want Young is so the Jets don't jump them and take Leinart... which I also think may happen.. then the Saints still get their guy.

Therefore you should also hear rumblings that the Saints will draft a QB.. that would leave none for the Jets at 4.

Oh and yeah, the Texans will let you pick whoever you want if you are Tennessee or the Jets and want to trade with them.

I am w/ you. I think the Chow/Leinart connection is just to much to overcome. Vince will be the 2nd QB taken and possibly the 3rd.

If you can believe the rumor mill, Tennessee will take Young over Leinart. The way it goes is that the two are so closely rated that the ability for Young to draw and the fact that the owner and GM have Houston Roots is pushing Young ahead of Leinart in this QB cook off. Also, (again, if you can believe the rummors) if the Jets like Cutler better then either Leinart or Young so I don't know about jumping up to draft a QB?
