He can go on the regular season PUP if he stays on the preseason PUP without any practice time once the season starts. He must then stay on the regular season PUP for at least 6 games.

This makes no sense at all and sounds like BS to me.

I think it means pup to start the yr and then 2 weeks to get back into shape. Play week 9. Was pretty easy to figure out what he was trying to say for me

He was enforcer until he hurt his eyelash and then he was a non factor. I have a love for hitchens? By your post it sounds like you are deeply in love with McClain to rate him over somebody like Hardy

Right, the regular season PUP is 6 games, or up to 6 games, they can be activated at anytime IIRC.
But after the 6 weeks, they can practice with the team for 2 weeks before they need to decide to activate, or release or put on IR.

You're right; for the regular season PUP they must sit out at least 6 weeks. After 42 days they have a five week window to start practicing. Once they start practicing then they have 21 days to either move to the active roster where they will count against the 53 or if they miss any deadline then the player must stay on PUP the rest of the season.

So technically you can keep a player on PUP up to roughly 6+5+3 weeks before coming off (regular season). So it would actually be longer as you would keep them on since the first reporting day.

It makes your lungs get used to high intensity workouts with minimal airflow I believe, trains you to breathe deeper to maximize air getting into body. My trainer makes me use straws for that purpose. Usually has me close to passing out after 10 mins

Had some time to think about this and I thought I remembered him already being on PUP rather than day to day, etc; which made more sense anyway.

Rolando McClain to open camp on PUP

OXNARD, Calif. -- As expected the Dallas Cowboys placed linebacker Rolando McClain on the physically unable to perform list with practices starting today.

The Cowboys also placed running back Darren McFadden on active/PUP with a slight hamstring strain. McFadden strained the hamstring in workouts last week.

McClain spent most of the offseason rehabbing from right knee surgery in Alabama, returning only for the mandatory minicamp in June. Last year, McClain missed time with various injuries in camp after sitting out the 2013 season. He played in 12 games and the coaches credited him with 108 tackles.

“He did very little with us over the offseason,” coach Jason Garrett said. “He was trying to rehab that knee. He’ll still be in that mode. He looks good physically, but he’s probably not going to be on the practice field right at the outset. We’ll see how he does with the work he’ll be doing in rehab and progress accordingly, almost day by day. But his spirits are good, his mindset is good, he just has to get himself healthy with that knee and I think that’ll happen over the course of time.”

IDK the cap ramifications and league rules about starting on the regular season PUP looking at a 4 game suspension. I'm just guessing he would start the suspension once he goes off PUP onto the active roster.
