So basically, he's healthy enough to practice, but because he's suspended, he refuses to.

Do I have that right?

No you don't. As usual you spew garbage as if they were facts. Whether this is true or not, at this point you don't know so why make statements as if they were fact when you don't know they are fact?

I think they're fine letting him rehab while they evaluate the young guys. He can stay on PUP until they're sure he's ready to play. I imagine they will like him to come back to practice enough to be ready game five.

I don't see anything amiss in the timeline.

Meh screw him he don't care. Dallas was not being smart thinking we had a lb squad already. If they don't bring in a vet like Briggs they are dumb. Don't give me the young movement bs you need to plug holes with vets when you have a window for a sb!

Absolutely correct, sir. And taking expensive chances hasn't paid off very well. In fact, who was the last free agent that came in and made the team better.

I think as far as contract value / production / leadership, I'd say Jeremy Mincey. But he was considered a "value" acquisition, and I don't know if you were talking about big money guys only.

Said it when he got suspended, saying it now, I'm not sure he'll ever suit up in a game for the Dallas Cowboys again.

There are just too many potential issues with this guy, and considering we got 6 or so good games out of him I think we pretty much used up all of our luck concerning McClain already.

They'll probably end up putting him on whatever it was that Lawrence was on last year, and by the time he can come back something else will have popped up - drug tests, personal problems, injuries, retirement, whatever.

LOL! So many people jumping off the cliff on a single tweet.

Its amazing how much venom some people hold for this one player. Just the mention of his name sends them off the deep end. I can understand not liking the player. Heck, I long ago gave up on Carr and Claiborne as players ... but you don't see me me foaming at the keyboard every time a thread gets posted (i.e., saying cut bait, waste of time, etc. etc).

Sounds completely made up

Posted today yesterday at DC.com
http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...sses-injury-status-dez-bryant-rolando-mcclain
Rolando McClain remains on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list as he recovers from offseason knee surgery. Jones said McClain, who faces a four-game regular-season league suspension, could be healthy to play Week One if he were eligible.

McClain can play in preseason games, but he isn’t eligible in the regular season until Week Five against the Patriots.

Asked if McClain needs preseason reps after missing the entire offseason program, Jones said, “I don’t think that’s necessary. Not in his case. The kinds of things we want to see from him are basically, we know what he can do.”

Head coach Jason Garrett recently said McClain is on schedule with his rehab but doesn’t currently have a timetable to return in preseason

Mike Fisher's Twitter timeline alleges similar thoughts as Jerry, that if Ro isn't getting paid to start the season why bother practicing.

My question is, who is Brady Tinker? And why do we care about his made stuff he is throwing against the wall? Amazing in this social media era that anyone can say anything and never have to back it up with one credible source. I am sure if Garrett wanted Ro gone because he was pouting or dogging it, he would be gone. Garrett is not going to let one guy ruin the chemistry of what he is building. This sounds like a lot of garbage to me.

Our young LBs are studs.. Why would we bring in an old slow guy to a defense that wants to play fast?

Hence, why I asked.

My issue with him is he didn't rehab with the team in the offseason. This thing yesterday was the first I heard of 8 weeks on PUP.

This is nonsensical. There is no 8 game PUP. There is a preseason and regular season PUP. He qualifies for the preseason PUP and can go there and come off to the roster at any time. He can go on the regular season PUP if he stays on the preseason PUP without any practice time once the season starts. He must then stay on the regular season PUP for at least 6 games.

This makes no sense at all and sounds like BS to me.

Rumor added to title.

Agree. It is just speculation by a guy that can't even get the numbers straight on the PUP rules.

Based off his ACTIVE game bonus contract, along with his $1000000 playing time bonus...... I can see the boys pushing him on this.

I'd like to think I'm wrong.... But it seems this is the case

He would not get any active game bonuses if he remained on the PUP.

If he is not ready to practice in the preseason, then they can just keep him on the PUP. There is no reason to use the DFR-IR spot on him.

Also, even if he is activated from the PUP, he will not count against the 53 while suspended for the 1st four games.

Don't insult our intelligence please. You know as well as everyone else that was a snarky agenda laden statement and not a question at all.

I thought you knew... that's coach speak:rolleyes: ... when it fits the agenda.

I'm not going to say what I think it is because I'll fall in the category with the anti-McClains. I'm just going to let it play out.

All I know is that I love what the player can bring to the team and would love to have him on the field. I'm going to leave it to the coaches to handle Ro's issues the best way possible. And it's up to Ro if he wants to have a successful career. As Big Bill would say, "all the peripheral stuff" is irrelevant.

A preliminary search surprised me in that it appears a player on any injured list would serve a suspension concurrently.

Keep in mind a player on the regular season PUP must stay on it for at least six weeks. So if they want him back then it is best for the team to take him off the PUP to practice when ready but before the season then allow him to serve the four game suspension.

My thing too is he ain't gonna be out there the 1st 4 games any way. It's not that serious. Besides, Garrett, Marinelli, et al's main objective at this point is to keep him engaged. (I know, I know ... they shouldn't have to do this. Well, I shouldn't have to pay car insurance for 20 years and still haven't been in an accident:). Different players - different rules. Jimmy Johnson Doctrine.
