Now this is a rumor that I can get on board with. I'd be willing to go as high as a 3rd round pick. $8 mil cap hit (assuming I'm looking at it right) isn't terrible. At 30, he still has a couple years of good productivity left. Immediate upgrade to the outside pass rush. I hope this is true.

That doesn't seem like news to me. Hopefully there's more substance to it than that. But yes. Huge advocate of a Wake acquisition. He's right physically. Not as an every down guy anymore but he would be beastly to pair with Dlaw in passing situations. We're a consistent pass rush away from being prohibitive NFC favorites. Finger crossed!!!

I have been advocating this move for a 5th, then get a 6th back by trading Dmac somewhere.

Wake is very productive this year with over 20 pressures and his contract for this year is not crazy and would not hurt the cap getting rid of him if his play falls off next year or the year after.

Wake would be a nice situational add. He's certainly not gonna be expected to be out there for 35 snaps.

What's the $$$ like in his deal?

He was 30 more than a couple years ago. He is 34 now.

That said, I hope we get him (just not for a 3rd given his age)

We don't have a 5th next year. You can thank Matt Cassel for that.
