There are going to be better backs cut as we get closer to 53 man rosters, if that's really the direction we want to go in.
I think, if we add somebody, it's going to be a guy we trade a bottom-5 roster spot player (TE, maybe? Or a DE if we end up with a young player we like but have to cut?) and/or a middling pick. And that's mostly if McFadden or Williams or somebody is hobbled in camp. We're going to go with a Randle-based rotation and have guys that fit the specific situations we want to be in offensively depending on who we're playing. Williams backs up Randle on first and second downs. McFadden backs up Randle in pass protection. Dunbar backs up McFadden, or vice-versa, on passing plays and runs to the perimeter or where we get the ball to a back in space. Everybody is adequate, and we have good blocking and a great passing game, so it works out. We'll upgrade if somebody has nagging injuries we think we can't rely on, or if we find a swiss-army piece we like better than one of the ones we have dangling there for us to scoop up.
