I saw this on another board so if anyone is able to confirm they listened would be much appreciated. If this is in fact true that would make for one helluv of good offseason.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peter King was just on the Michael Irivin show on ESPN radio, he was at the Owner meetings. He talked about PacMan and Dallas wanting a Veteran WR.

Said that PacMan is all but a done deal in Dallas. Also mentioned that he might be able to work out with the Cowboys team before training camp if the trade is completed. Apparently PacMan would be reinstated and the deal would have been finished, except that the NFL and Roger Goodell is worried about him getting arrested again before training camp.

Said that Dallas openly covets a Veteran WR to play on the other side of T.O.. According to King, Bolden has the best chance right now. He said that Chad Johnson is unlikely to be traded until August. Then he said Jones has been talking to Matt Millen at the Owners meetings. Thinks Dallas has a good chance to trade for Detroit WR Roy Williams on Draft Day for the 28th overall selection, after Jerry Jones takes a RB, Felix Jones or Jonaton Stewart at #22.

I think, all things considered (And that means IF both Pacman and a vet WR for #28 were had) that #22 would have to be a CB/DB, non?...Why go RB there in a deep draft of RBs?

I would definitely agree with you unless Stewart or any of the other top 3 backs were to fall in our laps.

getting WR Roy Williams would be the coup of the offseason

we'd have the best pair of WR's in the league, and running lanes galore for Barber and whomever we pair with him...not to mention what Witten and Crayton will be able to do

Sounds like something Peter King would say. Sounds like something Dallas would be very interested in.

I know that this next couple of weeks affords Dallas some great opportunities to add a ton of talent to this team that might help push them over the top. Knowing Jerry like we all do, I think it's going to be his greatest ambition to add more talent. He's smelling a Super Bowl.

I can vouch for this, I heard it today at approximately 1:35 pm CST....It was from Peter King on the Michael Irvin show. He was saying that Jerry Jones is passionate about the Cowboys and the NFL, and he has a way of having loose lips. To add to that, he also mentioned the Cowboys would use the first pick for a CB or RB and if he doesn't get the veteran WR, he may trade down with the 28th pick. All of the above (in your post) is almost verbatum from King

they're likely considering pacman more of a "official" part of the team than we are. i'm resigned to getting pacman and great - maybe he can help. low risk in the end for a high reward. you can't pass that up.

but one night out he's gone. i still think it depends on the RB at 22 if we take one or not. stewart yes, jones no. mendenhall won't be so that's moot.

so unless it's stewart i'd go best CB unless the top 5 are gone then i just sit and wonder what to say when my 2 minutes is up.

Mosley is about to address this on GAC. I now officially hate GAC, Galloway loves to hear himself talk.

When I read this in Gosselin's latest article, Roy is exactly what I thought of:

By keeping his two first-rounders, Jones probably would still land an elite running back with the 22nd overall pick, either Jonathan Stewart of Oregon or Felix Jones of Arkansas. With the 28th overall pick, the Cowboys might have a choice of wide receivers Malcolm Kelly of Oklahoma or DeSean Jackson of Cal.

But the Cowboys may have even better options.

"There might be great value for our team with some of that collateral we have with those [first-round] picks," Jones said. "What if someone wants to give us a hell of a player that really fit and improved our offense? That's the kind of universe I can conjure up.

"We could set up here and get a premium receiver on the other side of Terrell and have a tandem."

What an absolute dream come true for both the player and the team. Roy Williams a Cowboy. I would give #22 for that.

Yep.

I think Peter got his info from Gosselin ... either first-hand or from Gosselin's article today.

Jerry was pretty forthcoming in that piece. Maybe a little too much. I don't know.

This line said it all ..... "We could set up here and get a premium receiver on the other side of Terrell and have a tandem."

I sure hope Jerry is able to pull this off. This would be a GREAT offseason if Dallas lands RW#11 to go with: Pacman, a CB at pick 22 and a RB with the second rounder.

Championship!
