I read this on the scout.com board (thanks jetblue09), and I'm not sure how legit it is...

"1460 WSBN is reporting on Glenn

Michael Ricardi is saying that Glenn and JJ have come to a decision and the contract that will be $750 in stead of the $500K that was originally offered. He will sign it on Monday and be ready for camp"

Take it for what it's worth... I hope it's true! :starspin

Too bad. Another ******** moment for Jerry.

Should have cut ties and saved the roster spot for a younger player who will contribute in more ways and more than one play a game, if that.

Most of these things (some obscure radio station reporting something that apparently only one person hears) turn out to be false.

By "1460 WSBN," I assume he means 1460 WBNS in Columbus, Ohio (Terry Glenn went to Ohio State). And by "Michael Ricardi," I assume he means Mike Ricordati, one of the hosts for that station.

Maybe Glenn gave the scoop to some radio guy he knows back in Columbus, but I doubt it. He'd probably just shoot Clarence Hill another text message -- "750 G. Going 2 sign Monday! TYL!!"

There's not a young WR on the roster capable of contributing on the level of Terry Glenn. What bottom-roster player conceivably has TGs upside under any circumstance? This is hugely good news for the Cowboys, if it's true.

We just disagree on TG's ability to contribute. I say he will not contribute at all because he is done (age and serious injury). So all young WR would contribute more than Glenn who will only be able to run fly patterns once a game or so, if that.

Glenn should have been cut a year ago (not given the big deal due to his age and past injury history). We should have used that money to get a real #2 WR or other player needed at the time.

well...when terrance newman says terry glenn is the toughest guy he has to cover....when everyone says the knee looks fine....we have take the word of the people who see him every day. with the return men we have now, our offense got better...now you add glenn, our offense gets even better. might not mean more points, but we can score easier or quicker or romo will be exposed less....meaning fewer sacks and picks. Near the end of the year, if Romo did not make a play, we had no shot of winning. I think he grew up a lot last year and it taught him a lot. Our running game, in spite of the ranking, was never consistent. That will change and it will help the entire team.

Now here is what I will agree with, you cannot not invest this much time in these WRs and not have a couple pan out. they have refused to draft one, so the young guys they have must deliver. I thought it was idiotic to spend 5 years on nate jones and jacques reeves, only to have no interest in signing them when they became free agents. We are LUCKY that mike jenkins slipped in the draft and pac man became available. But these wideouts are going to have to produce this year...because neither glenn nor owens will play 16 games...so we will see what they got before it is all said and done

I hope it's true so the speculating can finally end.

Let Glenn prove one way or another he is and can stay healthy.

I think that Glenn AT THIS MOMENT is capable of being a real threat. BUT he is just one medium hit away from career over or at the very least season over. And therein lies the rub: can anyone seriously believe that he can start all 16 games and the playoffs and last? NO.

So you're saying he is better than TO huh? Wow, he must be really good then! Or maybe this statement just isn't true and he is trying to have TG's back. And when did TNew say Glenn was the toughest guy he had to cover this year, since he hasn't been allowed on the field until he signs his injury waiver. Sometimes done is done. I truly appreciate what he has done and been for us while he was here and would be proud for him to retire a cowboy but him being on the team will take away time from a young receiver who needs this critical development time. This is Austin and Hurd's critical 3rd year. Most experts agree that MOST receivers finally develop that 3rd year. How about Stanback? Do you think he doesn't need the time? If we keep 6 recievers then we got absolutely 0 receivers this year to develop (all undrafted so no biggie), what new guys make the team. Who goes away to make room for the drafted rookies? Are you saying Glenn is worth all of that? I don't.. not for the risk he represents.

I don't believe anybody said anything about Glenn being the toughest to cover this year. However in one of the chat transcripts that was posted, TNew did state that Glenn was the toughest that he has covered. Obviously that wasn't a reference to this years OTA's or mini-camp, but an overall reflection of his past efforts.

Clearly, Jerry and the Cowboys think he's good for more than that, so perhaps you should consider the possibility that you're full of it... :D

People forget how good he was for us when healthy. If he can salvage that form for 1 or 2 more years that would be huge for us

Very true. Nothing is guaranteed.

We will see if he can beat anyone out or if this was all for nothing.

YESSSSS, Glenn may be my favorite player on the team if he gets re-injured I want to to be with us. I want his last shot to be right here in Big D!
