It probably is to motivate him. He shouldn't need motivation though. The selection of Randle in the draft was another attempt at trying to motivate him.

You're right... aside from the injury..Murray was having a pretty good year..,not great, but he was well on pace to rush for over one thousand and rack up hundreds of receiving yards. Not bad, or average, decent. Which is all we need at the RB position.

@Michael_Fabiano: Per @RapSheet, Cowboys no longer sold on DeMarco Murray as their franchise RB. Watch them at the trade deadline. -> CJ Spiller, maybe?

hope they trade murray for draft pick - not trade draft pick for another back

Agree. The latter would stink of classic management blundering of the last several years. This may just be a motivational ploy though. Strange timing on a motivational ploy for a RB that's clearly OUT this week.

The only high profilre rb i would want to trade for is M Lynch but seattle wont be letting him go.

Hopefully it does motivate him, although i don’t think it’s to crazy to believe Murray has been a disappointment. Anyone with at least one eye ball can see they yards he leaves out there. I just wish he would put a juke on someone rather than go directly at him.

And we are not signing Brian Waters either. After all, that is dead...right? Something tells me that Cowboy source is just saying the company line. It might be true. But I won't be shocked if it isn't.
Right.. You have to love it when the deflective responses start coming out.

It just wouldn't make sense to leak this out on game day. I'll go with bad reporting. Anybody with a brain and knows this team, knows we have bigger needs than a RB.

Not surprising. He gets injured every year and simply not consistent enough of a running back to be a long term starter.

You can find a good back in the late first round or second round with the way the game is changing.

They also said something about keeping an eye out for a possible move in the next couple weeks. Jones-Drew?

Can't understand why some are bringing up Jones-Drew he's going to be 29 by the start of next season and is on the decline. He missed 11 games in 2012 with an injury. This season he's only averaging 3.0 a carry he wouldn't have much success behind the Cowboys OL. Bringing in a back that will be entering their 9th year and is pushing 30 wouldn't be a smart move.

who are the top rbs in next years draft that are worth a high second round pick. this team will probably be picking in the top 15 in next years draft again.

McFadden - Arkansas link

Don't be surprised if you see that. Jerry is probably slobbering all over himself right now.

The Arkansas/Jones link is the biggest myth on this board. Anyway, no thanks on McFadden, may as well keep Murray if we want injured RB's

CJ Spiller would be incredible. He is exactly what Romo needs.

Why would Buffalo let him go? He had 1244 yards last season and is averaging 4.2 this season. He's had a 47 yard run and 54 yard TD run this season and is only 26.
