(2005 - 70 rec for 917 and 9 TD)
(2006 - 36 rec for 437 and 0 TD)

Thoughts?

McCardell is an old Crayton. Liked him as a player, but pass.

May be used as a bridge player until Glenn returns or for the remainder of the year since he should be a cheap pick-up.

I agree!! We have some good young talent that I'd rather rely on. I like Hurd and Austin. Austin has plenty of speed too..

I was thinking Bethel Johnson might be an alternative. Not as an every-down player, but as an injection of speed into the offense. And he's from Dallas to boot!

where did he hear this exactly? Some national sports show with guys who know about half as what most posters know about the cowboys on this board.

Mort and werder speculated on caldwell and mccardell saying he was in san diego yesterday.

I hate that this is going to get so much play. If anyone thinks either of those two guys could help us win this week you are sorely mistaken. Woodys girl is right, caldwell is similar to crayton and mccardell is old and old players get hurt. No need to stop progress.

I hope the broadcast and the whole lead up to the dolphins game is not about how we are so desperate for another wr, i.e. mccardell or caldwell.

In the immortal words of Jerry Jones...

It's way too early to be looking for a another WR. We have a lot of confidence in both Hurd and Crayton. We also have two young burners in Stanback and Austin that should get some playing time.

If we had to Put glenn on IR picking up a vet makes sense, but if we have to cut on of our younger guys.... I just think that would be a dumb move.

and if you sign mccardell and pay him the veterans minimum and he gets hurt and misses 6 weeks and then ends up inactive for another 5 games then what?

if owens gets hurt then go make a deal for an older veteran... I would like to see hurd, austin and crayton play alot.

As much optimism as I have for this team, this year, I wouldn't mind If Wade was thinking more about the future than a win at all cost approach.

I hope that they come to a quick resolution regarding Glenn's status. The longer things drag out, the worse it is for the team. But I would not drop a good young player for a retread at the end of their career.

Nooo! Lets not start the FoW parade! Keenan is spent, and had no wheels to start. I think we need someone who can run. Possession WRs we have. :bang2:

While I would love to see Glenn back this season, I think the better decision for him would have to be to have the microfracture procedure and sit the year out. The chance of playing again this season is not worth the chance of messing up your knee for the rest of your life.

I don't think Jerry is going to pick up a receiver until if and when they decide to put Terry on IR. He said an interview yesterday it was much too early to be discussing picking anyone up, although he didn't tie that to anything else specifically.

Good thought. I liked Carlos Francis for the same reason, but Bethel has done more in the league.

(But as already said, this is only if we have to IR Terry.)

Hey guys,

This has aways confused me. Does any one know if this is this an option?

The rules for the PUP list are as follows:

During the first six weeks of the regular season, players on Reserve/PUP are allowed to attend meetings and continue rehabilitation at the club facility, but are not eligible to practice with the club.

After the sixth week, the club has a three-week window (Weeks 7-9) to allow a player on Reserve/PUP to begin practicing with the club. Once the player begins practice, he can practice for three weeks before the club must make a decision as to his roster status.

At any point following the sixth week of the regular season through the expiration of the player's three week practice window, the club can add the player to the 53-man roster or place the player on Reserve-Injured. Additionally, at the expiration of the practice window, the club can allow the player to remain on Reserve/PUP for the remainder of the season.

totally agree, not to mention we would have to cut a guy to make room for him if glenn ops for the minor surgery
