Patrick Crayton-WR- Cowboys Oct. 13 - 1:18 pm et

In addition to potentially losing his starting job, Patrick Crayton is also in danger of being pulled from punt returns.
Miles Austin's breakout game will likely push the much less explosive Crayton into the slot role, where he belongs. After muffing a punt and "looking tentative" on three fair catches, the Cowboys will look for a replacement returner this week.

Removing Cray Cray from punt returning is a good thing. I've been calling for this since last season. But I'm not sure that you hang your hat on Austin after ONE good game. Pulling Crayton from starting and pushing him to the slot after 1 game? Where has Austin been the other 4 games this year?

How good would DeSean Jackson have looked in a Cowboys uniform? He would solve PR problem and give us a consistent deep threat. Can we dust off Kelvin Martin??

Interesting!

I know several people were blah about Rossum, but without looking, I'm thinking he was in Atlanta when Joe D and Wade were there, right?

I always liked RW McQuarters, even though he's older now. Maybe we sign him, waive Cletis, and move Ball to safety permanently?

And then there's always the good old Barbie-for-Roscoe trade... :)

Hang your hat on Austin. Who else are you gonna hang it on Crayton? Hurd? Ogletree? NO.

Did you see his muffed punt that cost Bills the game this week?
yes...which is why I had to say still :laugh2:

If I was in Buffalo I'd tried to fumble my way out of there too.

Quit making sense man, we all know Austin is now the next coming of Michael Irvin after one good game against the 0-4 Chiefs. Never mind he dropped a TD pass and was the goat one week earlier because he didn't know what route he was running.

Come to think about it, didn't Crayton have a similar "breakout game" in 2007 against the lowly Rams? Now, he is about to get benched.

What's Crayton done the other 4 games that's warranted him keeping the spot?

He's had 1 good game against Tampa (everyone did) and been largely invisible otherwise.

If we trade Barbie we better make darn sure we can replace his coverage skills.

It's hard to think of a player who has gotten more job security from doing less than Patrick Crayton. Not many mediocre players have their coaches come out and declare there is absolutely no way they can lose their starting job in training camp.

so the guy who had one good game should replace the guy who had one good game?

This is my thing about 'well it was only 1 game against the Chiefs for AUstin' and 'let's not forget he dropped a TD'. All our WR's have dropped TD's. Who else do you feel is worthy of starting if not Austin, that is my question? Who else on this team should start over Austin right now? He went for 250 yards and I don't care what team that was against that is a receiver who should start on this team.
