2 things. They would have to showcase him for a couple of games, and a team would have to be DESPERATE.

I think he could get as high as a 3.

You grossly overrate dunbars value. You would be lucky to get a conditional 7th for him

You guys are so short sighted, Dmac has so much more value to this team in the near and long term if he chooses.

Our second and third team D gets to practice against a former #4 pick who is arguably in the prime of his career.

He has the right attitude and work ethic, the consummate professional. He is also very good in protection which is arguably the biggest skill set the back up/3rd down back needs.

He is pretty much a complete back and play calling won't be telegraphed/limited by him being in the game.

On a personal note I think we will see him in a closer type roll similar to how Marion Barber was used with JJ. I think we will see him come in during the third quarter in games we are leading, try to get him on the edge and into the secondary where he will punish(or hurt like those two guys in Washington last year) tacklers.

If he decides to resign here he would be a tremendous asset to the organization and would most likely extend his career longevity and I'd argue that he could be more successful on less carries here than he would if he were the starter elsewhere.

I'm not saying don't shop DMac. Absolutely, take a look and see what other teams will offer. But it would have to be something GOOD.

Guy was 4th in the league rushing the ball last year when teams had absolutely no fear whatsoever we could beat them with the pass.

One problem is that McFadden does not play Special Teams. It would be unlikely to have both McFadden and Morris active with neither playing ST.

While I think it is an overrated issue, McFadden functions better in man-blocking than in zone-blocking while Morris has always been a Zone runner.

Dunbar when healthy does play ST.

McFadden had a better year than Morris in 2015, but Morris has much better stats prior to that.

Morris has never missed a game in his NFL career. McFadden has not been much better than Dunbar about staying healthy.

I don't think the can keep McFadden on the NFI indefinitely if he is healthy enough to play. If a team would give up a draft pick for McFadden they would have to at least consider it.

With Lacy going on injured reserve, I would still give the Packers a call, like yesterday.

"Whaddya think about McFadden?"

"Ohhhhhh.......Another pitcher please........That's, that, thath's a good idea."

Morris is safe and doesn't need to be discussed imo so I'll stick with Dmac and Dunbar, and if it comes down to those two I'm sitting Dunbar though I see us going long there cause as you said the probability of those two being healthy at the same time for very long is low.

I'd look to move Dunbar before Dmac and I like what Dunbar brings to the team when healthy(except fumbling)

Dmac functioning well in the power lends itself to my theory of using him in a specific role, get the D tired with the zone with EE and AM then have our line go power and hit them in the mouth while Dmac either hits a DB in the mouth or takes it to the house.

I see AM as the true back up to EE with Dmac being the 3rd down/change of pace and Dunbar is a multipurpose utility who happens to be listed as RB but it's really more like PR/KR/ST/RB/WR so there is a place for all of them at least this year.

Packers need someone now, do they have any good defensive pass rushers?

DMC is the farthest thing from a power back......he falls over from a strong breeze......no legs

Kraft would never do this......he played here 1 season, not some lifer....at least 500k of his cap hit is made up of 30k a game roster bonus which he isn't earning on the NFI

Here's a plausible (I think) trade proposal. Both players are on the last year of their deals:

Darren McFadden for Cordelle Patterson

Patterson is never going to develop into a fulltime starting caliber WR, but he's a dynamic kick/punt returner and ST cover guy.

they only have 8 days to trade him and he hasn't even practiced yet....I would take anything, I just can't see anyone giving anything up

True, I just don't see where fits in...insurance I guess...

With McKinnon going down in MN I believe they can get some sort of deal done. Won't get much but I think MN is now desperate

I would rather have him play Dunbar's role than Dunbar.

McFadden can do whatever Dunbar can do plus more.
With Dunbar nicked up again..

I would think that DMac is activated over the bye.

Dunbar came back too soon and he needs more time.

When he is healthy he does fine..

but he's like Scandrick..

can't stay on the field and has to be protected and reduces the play calling once in.

He's not good b/n the tackles..

Or on sweeps..

So not sure we don't have better options to throw the ball to.
