I think they are looking to get the 5 best guys out there. If healthy, I think that is Smith, Livings, Costa, Frederick and probably Free.

I'm thinking if they can't get an OT prospect in this draft, they'll release Free and sign either Winston/Clabo. I have hard time seeing Free on this team next season.

I'm assuming you didn't watch the Penn State game. Jordan Hill tossed him around like a rag doll the entire game.

Unfortunately, that was the only game I saw him play this past year. Hoping that game was an aberration and not an indication of how he plays against elite DTs.

Go back and watch that game again. Hill had the best game of his career but the damage came against the Guards. When Frederick touched Hill, Frederick not only won, he dominated to the point of pushing him 10+ yards downfield on more than one occasion.

The only tackle Hill had when Frederick blocked him was a "sack" when the QB felt edge pressure and moved forward into Hill after Frederick had him neutralized

One other point to make; this guy's valuation is all over the board, from 31 (Gary Horton) down to the 90s..

http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2013...2013-draft-targets-travis-frederick?ref=yahoo

And when you like a guy with a wide spread of values and must have him, you'll inevitably get second guessed.

It's not the same as a guy whose value is consistently known to be, say, 40-50 or so.. the nearly two round spread of valuations means Dallas *had* to grab him at the high end, if they absolutely wanted him, because although 60% of the scouts had him late in the second or lower, that 40% who did not were really the players in this game.

Drafts are akin to auctions or for that matter, getting married. It only takes one, not a crowd.

This is an excellent point.

After watching the video of this guy, the write up documents exactly what you see on tape.

Just remember, these are the Hill "highlights." I watched every offensive snap and it was even uglier for Hill whenever Frederick got his hands on him.

Wow. Anyone who uses that game as a negative against Frederick has no idea what they're looking at.

This guy is pretty damn good. If linemen like him are "second round talent", then we should stockpile second round picks.

Now maybe we will run and convert more 3rd or 4th and 1. And maybe Romo will finally have a pocket to step up in.

Red zone, baby!!!!!!!!

Can have confidence to punch it in................finally. It's been forever.

The only negative plays from TF that I saw was one early in the game where the QB stepped up in the pocket and into Hill and toward the end where TF got beat at the goal line with swim move by Hill. Other than that, what I saw was TF pancaking, driving and controlling Hill the majority of the game.

This is consistent with every piece of film I have seen on TF too. Plus, opposing DTs will fear the beard!

I'm not a scout or anything, but I thought TF looked a lot the same in those Hill "highlights" as he looked in every other clip I've seen of him. I can't imagine describing that as Hill "tossing him around."

i think his grade is all over the place because of one thing... his stupid 40 time. idiots who grade solely on measurables probably have frederick out of the 2nd round. people who base their grades on production, pedigree, and simple eye test probably grade frederick closer to a 1st round grade.

Gil Brandt had him rated at 27 until his 40 time then dropped him out of his top 100. I don't get 40 times for OL being as important as the impact it had on his ranking.

I was listening to him on NFL Radio on Saturday. He said the 27 was done before the combines. Maybe he was just trying to make a point and was fast and loose with his actual rankings.
