LOL, gotcha, Just kidding!
But apparently some think we gave up a ton of picks for RW, we gave up three picks, but one was a 6th and we got back a 7th, so basically we only gave up a 1st and 3rd and we had an extra 3rd to begin with, so technically we only gave up ONE late round 1st round pick. LOL

Here's the picks we DO HAVE in 09', oh, and by the way, we still have PLENTY of ammo to maneuver on draft day believe it or not.

2nd
3rd
4th
4th
5th
5th
6th
7th 7th

Plus we'll get two picks for Julius Jones and Jacquez Reeves, Reeves I think will only be a 7th compensatory, but I think it goes on what round they were ded on and maybe their contract size also? not sure, so if anyone can project what we could possibly get for Jones I'd apprecite it.

But at BARE MINIMUM, because of whealing and dealing last year and trading for Roy Williams, we basically only lost our 1st round pick and ADDED a 4th round pick, added a 5th round pick, added a 7th round pick, and will have two extra picks with Julius/Reeves comp. picks.

So as you can see, while we are short of one 1st round pick, we really still are in very good shape on draft day for a lot of maneuvering.

If I had it my wy, I'd trade up in round 2 to get a 1st rounder prospect who fell to the early 2nd round, then trade up in round 3 to have an early 3rd rounder, and then that's it, trade away every other draft pick and REALLY Load up on 2010 draft picks to have a ton of ammo in 2010 since in reality, we need QUALITY and NOT quantity, and so I'd rather get TWO STUD PICKS early in the draft and then trade away all our other picks to really make our 2010 draft an exciting one with like 14 picks. LOL

Cause seriously, our roster is SOOOO DEEP, that I think it's gonna be tough for even a 4th rounder to make our final roster anyway, so lets just try and get TWO stud picks and call it a draft and use our other picks to move up to get the two studs and then set ourselves up for a monster 2010 draft.

I bet we could get a 5th round compensatory pick for Julius. He was a 2nd round pick for us and is a starter for Seattle who could end up with a decent year.

I believe that third rounder is from Cleveland so there is a good possibility that it will be an early third rounder anyway. We could possibly move into the late second with that if we wanted to.

They may have looked pretty good against the defending SB Champs Giants last Mon night, but I wouldn't put much stock into it. It was Mon night on their own home field, they had an extra week to prepare, and they were playing them like it was their SB.

When all is said and done, they'll probably win 6 tops.

LOL is right.

I don't get the twisted logic that suggests the 3rd we gave up had no value since we already have an extra 3rd.

My hunch is that we would have been able to actually select 2 players in the 3rd round had we not made the RW deal. Now we can pick 1. In my book, that means we gave up something.

I'm not ripping the deal. We're all hoping it turns out great but it will take some time to get the results with which to do a fair analysis. And part of that analysis should be the salary differential we're paying Roy versus what those draft picks would have cost. That would have been a pretty fair free agency pickup.

I'm hoping for the best.
