Ryan Flournoy Appreciation Thread

Nothing Flournoy did tonight cost the Cowboys the game.

If you think he did, please go talk to the defensive players.
I would not go so far as to say nothing because having the ball bounce off his chest was pretty large. That effectively ended any chance we had of completing the comeback. However overall the kid was very very good. He has shown flashes of this all season but he put it on full display last night. The Cowboys have found their definitive #3 receiver if they keep Pickens and quite possible a #2 if they don't.

True a bit......but too harsh. He has helped determine Tolbert on the way out though. He is not a replacement for Pickens.
Agreed. But all of the good he did throughout the game does not erase the game-costing mistake he committed at the end with the game on the line simply because he failed to properly secure the catch he made which hit him in the chest.

Well we don’t need WR in the draft, we have 3 now. Hopefully the FO doesn’t think we need another TE either, even though we might.

We do.

Ferguson's ceiling is evident and he's a fumbling, dumb football player.

Yeah I am completely ready to move on from Ferguson. This fumbling business is outta control. No 6'5" 250 pound should be that easy to separate from the ball. I hope John Stephens' knee is fully healed next year because we need a pass catching tight end who doesn't fumble. Hell at this point I'm ready to see what Spann-Ford can do with starter reps.

Yep, we can't hang our hat on one game or a few plays......consistency keeps you on the field.

RonnieT24......agree a bit, but John Stephens been on the roster too long for too little. Availability is the best accountability. And not interested in great pre-season play. Concerned too with our TE having fumbling issues.

That's the thing.. Stephens has NOT been on the roster. He missed his rookie year with the knee and I think he has basically been an injury stash this second year because his recovery was slow enough and the guys in front of him were good enough that he was not needed. But circumstances have changed. Remember Stephens was a college WR transitioning to TE. He likely needed these two years to put on enough man bulk to play the position. I am hoping he is ready next season. I can't watch Ferguson fumbling away games much longer.

I feel ya'.......but this team's problem is always "wait until" moments. We don't have any more time for such. Need players & dawgs immediately. A sign should be posted at The Star...."Help wanted, no patience". Ferguson should walk around with a football for a while.

I guarantee you every team has projects on their practice squads and stashed on IR. Guys whose bodies (or minds) are not quite ready for the NFL but they've showed flashes that they can be at some point in the future. An example this year is Phil Mafah. Who here thinks his little sprained MCL should have been season ending? He was a stash plain and simple. I think he is insurance from Williams asking for too much $$$. Now don't get me wrong.. I would offer Williams 4 years for 7-9 a year right now. But his agent might want to go over that. And if he does much as I love him, I would let him walk and get Mafah ready to be the lead dog next year. And maybe pick up another mid-round back next draft.

Are they bringing Stephens back? I thought his career was over now. He did show some great plays in preseason, but so do a lot of receivers.

The kid can ball and helps in the run game, less tolbert and turpin please.

RonnieT24......sounds good, but we're talking our team that's been on a 30-year drought. I need today, not tomorrow plans (stashes & hopes) as far as on-field performances. To me, today will be 2026 beginning with the offseason, FA, and draft. Last hope to get full value from the Parsons trade and weed out malcontents, under-performers and bad performers. I need dawgs on D!!!!....and Eberflus out.

GREAT night for him. 9-115-1. 42 yard TD.

Yeah that's nice but the ball pulled out of his hands called an interception which should have been called a fumble I'm not letting him off the hook for that but yeah good job bro mean you still aided in the loss as much as you tried to help in the win so I'm gonna go do this all day long with people ragging all over certain players you know what he deserves a little flowers is the 2nd big game this year this might tell us we should trade George Pickens get a 1st round pick save 30 million and make this kid the second receiver to CD lamb...

So yeah I'm gonna give him his flowers nice job next time hold on to the ball him and George Pickens created a mess oh and also Ferguson..

I blame to go around but yes if you want to call this a bright spot if you're looking for one great that's nice i'm still jaded and bitter right now so it's hard for me to be nice to any of these guys especially when I wake up and see individuals being toasted that probably shouldn't...

Speaking of him I think he has something to offer this team I'm with you the things I seen in practice training camp preseason games he may have something to offer this team that's very similar to Williams he's a very physical player just enough moves To not be considered just a short yardage power back but a good a good option...

Flournoy is definitely better than the joke named Tolbert. Slightly better at times than Turpin. Problem is dumb Schottenheimer who sucks at player evaluation, player choosing and most definitely in critical moments playcalling.
He chose the running back.

He chose the running back.
I don't respond to that guy because I have him on ignore but you can tell him if he's reading this you're blaming Schottenheimer whose offense once again put up 30 points when his defense couldn't do anything when his offensive line couldn't block when they couldn't run the football and when his bad choices allegedly got balls into the hands of Ferguson Pickens and Flournoy and ALL coughed it up,

so yeah let's just back off a little bit because you're blaming a coach when his players went out there and made mistakes his designs worked that's why the ball hit them in the hands that's why they put up 30 and probably could have put up 40 had these players not coughed the football up...

Here is easy to pick on a coach who's had the offense in the top three all year and nothing's going well in this game and they still put up 30 and his players are the ones that made the mistakes not him I mean they had no defense to boot so yeah let's blame the coach when his calls were actually working even with that mess of an offensive line and no run game they were finding ways to get the ball to his players and they coughed it up not him.
