No, he was talking about the draft that he felt safety was the biggest defensive need because they had two guys coming off injuries. That is fact. In this 2nd interview when he was talking about possibly signing a vet similar to the Ernie Sims signing for insurance. The reason being they never know who is going to be available when they pick and it's smart to at least have an vet option so you don't find yourself reaching in the draft. Nothing he said conflicts except in a warped mind that wants it to.
