So as said, Harrison Smith didn't have a pick last year. Guess he's not that good?
This is pretty stupid logic when I indicated Blanton has 1 interception in his career, one that spans 5 years. Do you want to post Harrison's totals over that same span or you want to tag someone else in for help?

He only started 17 games in 4 years with the Vikings, which could justify the low int total, but is probably more of indicative of his play.

I see nothing wrong with this move. He is quality depth in the best case scenario. In the worst case scenario he at least has starting experience.

OVERVIEW

Blanton has been a reliable, if not flashy, corner for Notre Dame throughout his career. He is the type of athlete who could get an NFL team through a game at the position but has work to do to qualify as a starter at this point. He is a heady prospect who plays to his strengths and understands footwork and technique while working in man, although he is not the natural type of athlete who can run freely with any receiver. Blanton has third-round value as a backup option as an outside corner or possibly even at the nickel spot.

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS
Blanton can cover in both man and zone and provide support in run defense. He has a ton of experience playing nickel in the slot and should be able to provide depth there at the next level. He can recognize routes and jump them quickly in zone, and use his long arms to recover and make plays on the ball in man. Despite small inconsistencies in his technique he can rely on his size and length to make plays.
WEAKNESSES
Blanton has struggled in his back pedal and in his technique at the top of routes, though he can stick his foot in the ground after recognizing action to redirect himself when off-line. He has a tendency to widen his feet and lose ground, which could prove costly at the next level. He also lacks elite corner speed to be put on an island in man coverage against better NFL receivers.

I'm kind of anxious about this to, I don't know if he's on another visit, or if we're working out a deal with his agent. I hope we get him.

I imagine he has left. I haven't seen anything from Fisher or Broaddus
