With their offensive line depleted by injuries, the Cowboys are working on a deal to sign 11th-year guard Brandon Moore, DallasCowboys.com reported Tuesday night via Twitter.
Moore spent the last nine seasons as a starter for the New York Jets. A Pro Bowl pick in 2011, he was released in the offseason by the Jets in a salary cap purge.
If the Cowboys sign the 33-year-old Moore, he will be reunited with offensive coordinator Bill Callahan, who was with the Jets for four years (2008-2011) as their offensive line coach.
Moore would likely compete at right tackle with Mackenzy Bernadeau, who began practicing late last week after missing most of the first two weeks of camp with a hamstring injury. Left guard Ron Leary, who moved up to the first team after Nate Livings underwent knee surgery last week, played all 62 offensive snaps in Sunday’s pre-season opening win over Miami.
